Why as some one who leans right and supports the Constitution, I think the Electoral College sucks.

I believe in the many principles of the founding father. But the Electoral College makes very little since in modern day America. There are two really arguments for it

1) Prevents mob rule

2) Give powers to smaller states

These arguments don't really make since to me, we already have the Senate that give power to smaller states. Also, it doesn't make since how if a state votes 52-48 percent, that all those votes goes to the candidate who one the majority. Conservatives in California can't be represented at all because of this system. The system also destroys the chance of a third party candidate to win any presidential elections. Me personally I would like a ranked voting system.

The only reason for it is to select democrat presidents forever.

Once California and maybe New York leave our perfect union, then sure.

A ranked choice voting system would be better, I think.

I'm hoping we get some real-world data on that in the USA after some localities or states start using it.

Given that the electoral college has recently elected two Republicans defying the popular vote, your post is just BS.

Let me answer your second point first.

2) Give powers to smaller states

How Electoral College votes are awarded rests entirely with the States. The "winner-take-all" option used by 48 of the 50 States was chosen by those States, and can be changed by those States.

However, another option is used by only 2 States, Maine and Nebraska who award their votes proportionally. Both Senate Electors in these States are given to the person who won the majority of all the votes in the State. But the other Electors for each Representative's District are given to whichever candidate won the majority vote in each District. (In 2016 Trump got 1 elector and Hillary got 3 in Maine, and Trump got all 5 from Nebraska). IMO the system used in Maine and Nebraska should be the norm in every State.

As for your first point:

1) Prevents mob rule.

The reason for the President being elected via the Electoral College was not to give "power" to small and mid-sized States. It was to insure that they had an impact on the selection of any President so that he/she would never completely ignore them in favor of the goals and drives of only the States with the largest populations. Large States have more representation in the House of Representatives, where taxes are decided. But the President has the power to veto. What President would veto any bills pushed by the large State reps. if he/she solely depended on their populations for election and re-election?

Look at the last election. Hillary concentrated her efforts primarily in the largest States, while Trump focused on the midsized and some (at least) of the smaller States. He won more States than Hillary, while she won more popular votes in those large States. The 2016 election proved how important it is NOT to completely ignore the smaller States, and IMO showed how wise the Founder's were in establishing the Electoral College.

People have lost touch with what the United States are. People now look at the country as a single body rather than a collective of 50 individual states. We have moved away from the original point of having the electoral college, but this is not what people are upset with. People upset with the electoral college do not like the concept of 50 individual states and would rather see it as a single body which is why they refer to the national popular vote rather than how we decide on the President with each state's popular vote.

Out of the 4 candidates that won the EC and not the popular vote, only 1 of them was a Democrat.

I can't think of a good reason to keep the electoral college, either.

If that's how the majority of Americans want it, then isn't that how the principle of Democracy works?

A what if. What if a national election were so close it demanded a recount?

Bush Gore in nationwide. Yikes!

Hmm...that's something to think about.

Did a state ever had a recount for a national election before Florida?

I say if you want to do away with the EC then you need to do away with the states and have one country called "America". You can't have 50 individual states and then use the popular voting system.

We don't want California and New York imposing their insanity upon the rest of us. This gives flyover country where the REAL Americans live a little extra pull.

That is essentially what Democrats want, they may not come out and say it but every goal they have is to implement their policies at the federal level. Republicans aren't much better, I wish both parties would quit trying to enforce their policies on everyone and let the states decide what is in their best interest as people should have more say in how a government influences their lives.
