That's correct... After Kennedy announced his retirement and before Trump nominated Kavanaugh.
It was political well before than with Trump essentially handing off the repsonsibility of researching judges to far right think tanks for very specific candidates with very specific political leans.
How a president selects a nominee is his choice and has nothing to do with the confirmation process itself, which is the topic I was discussing.
