You'll all recall when the republicans decided not to hold a vote on a THIRD Obama supreme court nominee. He had already appointed 2, both of whom were confirmed without being treated like evil monsters by republicans throughout the process. Two SCOTUS judges appointed by 1 president is not a low number btw! But when republicans promised to block a 3rd(after seeing how radical & deceptive the first 2 were proving to be), both the democrats and the media instantly began making dishonest hypocrits out of themselves and each other!

That was when the democrats AND their media allies began claiming and pretending that any resistance to a supreme court nominees is "unprecedented and extreme". Well, as usual, those claims were false. It was nothing more than politically convenient propaganda. During the last 1.5 year's of GW Bush's presidency, the democrats had just promised NOT to confirm ANY new SCOTUS nominee until after the next election! Of course the news media were supportive! Then they buried the story when republicans did the same thing, and feigned outrage, and claimed it was "unprecedented"....Lol

Well here's a whole list of republican supreme court nominees savaged, filibustered, blocked by the democrats, in just the last few decades alone:

How many did we win?

Yes but how many of Obama's Supreme Court nominees were handsy drunkards who tried to rape their classmates?

Another fun fact: it was Republicans that first put the removal of the filibuster on the table back in 2006, not the Democrats. Yet, it's been Republicans that act like we did something earth shattering they wouldn't have ever thought of doing at some point.

And how many of them were openly hostile to one political party?

Yeah, this pick is about as partisan as it would be if the Dems nominated Hillary for SC.
I'm surprised they didn't nominate James Dobson.

as many as there were nominated by GHWB, W and Trump combined.

If there were reports Kagan and/or Sotomoyer committed assault in the past do you think Republicans would have wanted an investigation? Be honest.

It isn't a high number, either. Dubya appointed two. Clinton appointed two.

Reagan appointed five and got four confirmed. Interestingly, I don't see many conservatives complaining about that...

'Opposing' a nomination or voting against a nominee is not the same as preventing a hearing. If any Democrats did promote such an action then I would oppose them just as a oppose what the GOP did to Garland.

Why Senate Democrats regret getting rid of the filibuster ...

So we're not going to disturb the filibuster in those two places. But for Cabinet-level appointees and for sub-Supreme Court judicial nominations, a simple majority should suffice." THE FIX: In retrospect, you could argue that getting rid of the filibuster has backfired on Democrats -- just look at Trump's very conservative Cabinet …
