Page told a closed-door joint session of the House Judiciary and Oversight committees in mid-July that investigators could not make the charge, according to a transcript of her deposition reviewed by Fox News.
'I think this represents that even as far as May 2017, we still couldn't answer the question, Page said.... In May 2017, Mueller was appointed by Deputy Attorney General Rod Rosenstein as special counsel overseeing an ongoing investigation into Russian interference in the 2016 election.

Time for Trump to declassify the documents related to this fiasco and watch the Progressive Democratic Left scramble for the cracks in the wall. Even the basis of the Mueller probe was already known to be false WELL BEFORE Comey engineered Mueller's entry into the Special Prosecutor job.
I'm beginning to think they should just send all the conspirators to Gitmo, conduct military tribunals, and a whole lot of summary executions.
Obama made certain that key agencies were made corrupt and weaponized against the people of this country, we no longer have a functioning "Justice" system in the civilian realm. We need our Military to step up and take out the enemy yet again...
More and more the evidence is suggesting this is all a part of the resist movement and it has now gone past resist to outright treason and sedition. What makes the Progressive Marxist Socialist Left so arrogant and narcissistic that they think they have the right to negate the voting results of millions of Americans to undermine the current President? Likewise, their view of the world is the only one that matters and they feel they have the right to suppress all other views that oppose their own.

There it is folks, Doc is thinking Americans in the FBI should be executed for doing their job. I wonder if we should notify the FBI about your thinking? Maybe get you on a watch list.

Considering it was Trump's choice to fire Comey, that seems strange. Is it that easy for people Trump hates, to control him?
 
May of 2017 was a lifetime ago.
 
I think that the point of the OP is that if the FBI, as of May, 2017, still didn't have evidence of collusion then the appointment of the special prosecutor was a HUGE overreach. It means that the only legitimate reason for Mueller to be appointed was, as some of us have been saying all along, to find a reason to get rid of Trump.

If there was no evidence that Trump was involved with the Russians in relation to the campaign then the investigation into Russian activities should have been a standard DoJ investigation. If the standard investigation turned up evidence of Trump involvement THEN a special prosecutor should have been involved.

From how I see it, the FBI at the time lacked the requisite permissions and resources to properly investigate.

Much has changed since May of 2017. How many witches have pleaded guilty so far in this witch-hunt?

None of those "witches" has plead to anything related to the campaign. Actually, I guess Cohen plead to campaign finance stuff but what he plead to likely wasn't even a crime.

That doesn't follow at all. How does lack of evidence of collusion equate to the special counsel's aim being solely to "try to find a reason to get rid of Trump?" The Russians meddled in the election with the intention of throwing the election to Donald Trump. Close personal associates of Donald Trump had extensive unreported dealings with Russian oligarchs that were intended to profit Trump's campaign for president. This is not evidence of Donald Trump colluding with Vladimir Putin, but it is highly suspicious behavior at best, and criminal behavior at worst.

I would argue that a person who is desperate to sweep the entire thing under the rug would rather criminals in highly influential positions go undiscovered than risk a democrat getting into office. By arguing against the special counsel investigation, you are implying that the ends justify the means, even if the means are criminal and treasonous in nature. At that point, we've passed from healthy political discourse into advocating the use of intrigue and foreign interference against our own people.

There are things that Trump supporters think don't matter that absolutely matter to any patriotic American. Setting precedent is a dangerous thing to do, because the tables can turn down the road and precedents are hard to ignore.

A. Who cares? A lot has happened since then.
B. If there were trials, they wouldn't be summary executions.
C. There are no such conspirators, nor can you demonstrate that there are.
D. Thinking things through before posting is something I recommend to everyone.
