Trump supporters are gullible. They are perhaps the most easily persuaded to believe what they are told of all the people I have observed.

Here is my evidence.

Trump meets with Saudis. He has a big celebration for a big deal he claims he has made. His supporters cheer victory. What did he do? He got a deal to one day, possibly make some kind of deal.

"The $110 billion deal that the president announced doesn't really exist," said Bruce Riedel, director of the Brookings Intelligence Project and a former CIA officer, who noted the discrepancy in Trump's announcement in an article Monday for Brookings, which first shed light on this aspect of the deal.
In his article, Riedel wrote, "Instead, there are a bunch of letters of interest or intent, but not contracts. Many are offers that the defense industry thinks the Saudis will be interested in someday."

Trump meets North Korea. He has a big celebration. His supporters cheer victory. What did he do? He got a deal to one day, possibly make some kind of deal.

NBC News reported June 29 that CIA analysts and other U.S. intelligence officials “believe that North Korea has increased its production of fuel for nuclear weapons at multiple secret sites in recent months — and that Kim Jong Un may try to hide those facilities as he seeks more concessions in nuclear talks with the Trump administration.” The Washington Post reported June 30 that the Defense Intelligence Agency “has concluded that North Korean officials are exploring ways to deceive Washington about the number of nuclear warheads and missiles, and the types and numbers of facilities they have, believing that the United States is not aware of the full range of their activities.”

Trump meets with the European Union. He has a big celebration. His supporters cheer victory. What did he do? He got a deal to one day, possibly make some kind of deal.

While the two sides said the deal was contingent on negotiating in good faith, there was no schedule set to complete the talks, meaning that what amounted to a temporary truce could turn into a permanent one—or fall apart if one side accuses the other of lagging behind.

I honestly would love for us to make billions from sales to Saudi Arabia, force North Korea to denuclearize, and actually achieve a 0 tarriff trade alliance with the EU. Those would be monumental achievements worth celebration. The problem is they haven't happened and despite Trump's strutting, there is little reason to believe it will happen. If anything, despite having the best tech to sell, the strongest military in the world, and the biggest economy in the world at his disposal, he has received very small concessions in his dealings.

A huge chunk of America got themselves convinced that Trump is an idiot.....there are sure a great many twits running around.

WE USED TO BE BETTER!

I think he is a marketing genius. The problem is marketing is not the same as leading. A good marketer can convince you that he has an awesome deal, but until someone truly signs on it is all just talk and gimmicks.

He is also a political genius....his ability to feel the people around him is rarely found.

He is a demagogue. He seeks support by appealing to popular desires and prejudices rather than by using rational argument.

Those are a dime a dozen. Don't confuse his ability to offer political legitimacy to personal grievances as anything but what it is. The oldest political ploy to power there is.

He Leads.

The End.

Well, I'm not one of the herd so I've never cheered victory. But I think making a deal to make a deal is a good thing. At least, it's better than refusing to even consider a deal.

That’s called “grabbing them by the *****!”

Even if there are consequences such as further destabilizing the Middle East, providing legitimacy to a brutal dictator, and spitting on long standing alliances?

I don't see that happening. Do you?

The Saudi "deal" has increased the likelihood of a Saudi war with Iran.

The North Korea "deal" was nothing more than Trump offering global legitimacy to Kim Jong Un, despite the reality that he runs concentration camps in his country and literally starves his own people.

The EU "deal" is based on literally threatening our Western allies with the force of our bigger economy because they engage in the same economic practices that we do.

Ummm...

I think you are displaying TDS-induced hyperbole in every one of those instances. The reality is nothing like you portray it to be.

How is it then?

I like how modern debate is basically to dismiss a person's perspective outright through ridicule. That worked out so well for the liberals when they did it. I wonder how it will turn out for you.

But at what cost?

Trump causes destabilization of relationships.

Some relationships need a good shaking up, but I don't think he's destabilized anything.

It's a matter of opinion, but I'll respect yours.

At the end of four years, Trump is either going to be seen as a genius that realigned the status quo, or a fool that bumble-fudged everything he touched. The jury is still out.

Unfortunately for Mr. Trump, he's done several major incidents - along with his intrinsic self - that make me want him out-of-office ASAP, regardless of his performance in things like the economy or international politics.

Lol, wut?
Actually though, I can see where he's coming from, even if I don't necessarily agree with it.

Some Trump supporters are saying Trump is bumping things around in a negotiation ploy, but in the end simply moving-the-posts slightly better in America's favor.

It's an interesting argument, though I can't say I claim it's valid or effective, and it has significant negative costs for relatively scant - if that - progress.

What comes out of that deal for both the EU and the US in the trade tariff battle is what indicates the change he makes to the status quo. Right now it's just celebrating the cessation of an issue he started. Could we have gotten here without the absurd posturing? Possibly.

I fully agree.
