Elizabeth Warren supporter arrested after allegedly assaulting US Senate challenger | Fox News

A supporter of U.S. Sen. Elizabeth Warren has reportedly been arrested for allegedly assaulting one of Warren's opponents in this year's U.S. Senate race in Massachusetts.

The suspect, identified as Paul Solovay, 74, was arrested Sunday for allegedly pushing a bullhorn in the face of Shiva Ayyadurai, resulting in a bloody lip for the Senate candidate, the Berkshire Eagle reported.
Ayyadurai, who is running as an independent, was using the bullhorn to shout at supporters lined up outside a venue in Great Barrington, about 135 miles west of Boston, to see Warren speak during a town-hall style event Sunday afternoon, the newspaper reported.

So this guy is running for office as an independent, when one of Warren's supporters punches his megaphone and gives him a bloody lip.

More and more we see this sort of behavior from folk on the left, though typically it has been with the younger generation, not so much the older. But we have seen rise of groups like Antifa and this generalized behavior which is aimed to shut down free expression and speech over political idealism. It's a symptom of the hyperpartisan split in our country that has been brewing for some time and taken to new heights with Trump. And it's beyond ridiculous, it's damaging to the Republic. One of the reasons why we can't have nice things is that people on whole, left and right, seem to have abandoned reason and intelligence for emotionalized, hyperpartisan rhetoric. And violence is the end game of that, which we are seeing now.

Why punch this guy? Just because he has a different political opinion? I think everyone is allowed their opinion and to express it so long as it is done peacefully.

I do not believe that we can control the government and keep the Republic with this sort of behavior. Also, Ayyadurai said this:

“We don’t produce enough engineers. We don’t produce enough doctors. What we do is produce a bunch of s---bag lawyer lobbyists like Elizabeth Warren,” Ayyadurai can be heard shouting toward the crowd in a video of the incident posted to Facebook.

Which makes me really like him. lol

Sadly, it's the world we live in today and it will get much worse from here on out.

Extremists from the far right/left are much more brazen overall these days.

"I can't let that bastard beat Elizabeth Warren! What am I gonna do?"

*lightbulb*

"Ah--I know! I'll knock the **** out of him! But...won't that be totally non-productive, and garner more sympathy for Warren's opponent, therefore making it harder for her to win? Naaaaaah."

I tend to agree, our issue are those repeatedly trying to apply the worst examples from either side to the entire group.

He must have been part of her "tribe."

It's unfortunate, but until we want to return to reason and intelligence, it is going to get worse. I don't want to live in a society where everyone has to keep their mouth shut because they fear offending someone or expressing a different political ideology and being assaulted for it. But we seem to be headed in that direction. And those typically wielding this righteous anger and violence are those who are most likely incapable of understanding the end point of their aggregate violence.

Taking "harassment" to a new level, or just some dunce who can't reason? I find it sad that we have to discuss either, I live friendliness and civility and love thy neighbor.

Meh. No, the 74 year old shouldn't have done that, but I have little sympathy for this Ayyadurai as he was yelling "Racist! Racist!" in the guy's face with a bullhorn.

This is a preview of the country the Democrats will create for us. Life will be easy for you, but really tough on your enemies.

Bonding companies already use social media scans to assist in deciding who they will bond and who they won't. And if they won't bond you, you are likely to be gone. So when that photo of you with a MAGA hat on surfaces, you may suddenly find yourself off the promotion ladder.

I tend to agree, our issue are those repeatedly trying to apply the worst examples from either side to the entire group.

I'm glad to see the guy arrested. Too many police departments are giving a pass to one side, and strictly enforcing against the other - Berkeley, CA for example.

Thanks for the video, it puts what happened into perspective.

The link says pushes not punches. If even Fox News can't manage to spin the story to sound worse than it is, then it probably wasn't.

Really? Cause last I checked the older generation stormed the beaches of Normandy to kill Nazis. ****, they nuked Japan. Given that Trump supporters think it's acceptable to drive their cars into crowds of liberal protesters I don't think you get to complain about a little pushing and shoving.

But we have seen rise of groups like Antifa and this generalized behavior which is aimed to shut down free expression and speech over political idealism.
We don't need to hear what Nazis have to say. They are scum. Are you expecting to hear something that a Nazi says tomorrow and say to yourself, "Wow, that's a good point! The Nazis are right, we should go around murdering Jews and Black people."

It's a symptom of the hyperpartisan split in our country that has been brewing for some time and taken to new heights with Trump.
This isn't partisanship. This is good vs evil. Trump is evil. His most ardent supporters are evil. These aren't just different perspectives or two sides of the same coin. The Republican party has now crossed the threshold into full unadulterated evil. You do not tolerate evil, you destroy it.

And it's beyond ridiculous, it's damaging to the Republic. One of the reasons why we can't have nice things is that people on the whole left and right, seem to have abandoned reason and intelligence for emotionalized, hyperpartisan rhetoric. No, we can't have nice things because supposedly good people aren't willing to accept the possibility that one side is actually evil. Evil people do a good enough job of spinning their destructive behavior to make it sound patriotic and borderline acceptable.

Why punch this guy? Just because he has a different political opinion? I think everyone is allowed their opinion and to express it so long as it is done peacefully.
Again, he didn't punch him, he pushed him, and it sounds like he was being very annoying and disrespectful to a bunch of people who came out specifically to see Elizabeth Warren. This guy was a troll who's trying to get attention for his pathetic campaign by saying provacative ****. He wanted to get shoved so Fox News would give him free press, and you're allowing the actions of one random guy to be used as propoganda against all Liberals.

I do not believe that we can control the government and keep the Republic with this sort of behavior.
Then stop helping fascists get elected.

Also, Ayyadurai said this: Which makes me really like him.
Really? That's funny because I'm pretty sure Elizabeth Warren would like to see more doctors and engineers too.

The guy has nothing to do with Trump, FYI. He's running as an independent.

Jesus.

He was assaulted by a Warren supporter.

Some people are OK with assaulting others for differing political opinions. I am not. I find it that it harms the Republic and puts at risk our rights. I guess if you're OK with that, then fine. But in such a case your as bad as the "fascists" you pretend to fight.

It's ok, 'cause he's left leaning.

It's ok, 'cause he's left leaning.

I mean, it seems that way. It seems that people are willing to excuse anything so long as it comes from their side of the isle.

This retarded hyperpartisanship will be the death of the Republic.

Umm....the guy was a good 50 feet away. He didnt get 'in his face' until the geezer put himself directly in front of the bullhorn.

But really...people crying 'racist' bother you? You must not read this site. Like...at all.

Kinda funny...the old white supporter of the old white chick attacks the actual Indian in the campaign....

I am a Mass voter this crazy ass is no more indictive of Warrens supporters as the KKK is to Trump.

No worries, Warren will stay in her seat by a comfortable margin in Nov.

Very likely, this guy is running as Independent and we don't take kindly to political competition round here.

But the violence has been getting more frequent, that's for sure. And yes, the majority on both right/left are not engaging in it; but the violence is rising. And as it does, everything is just going to start getting worse. If rallies cannot be held because assaults happen all the time, how are we to have a proper, free Republic?

Corporate Warren will stay in her seat, but one cannot deny that political violence is not on the upswing.

Sadly, it's the world we live in today and it will get much worse from here on out.

Extremists from the far right/left are much more brazen overall these days.

As the rhetoric heats up, the natural conclusion is the threat of violence escalates as well. This is made easier by viewing people of differing political views as enemies rather than fellow citizens.

The Right has been cranking up the volume since the 80s. Abortion terrorists, Tim McVeigh's terrorism, the rise in racially motivated violence, Gabby Giffords shot in the head, if it wasn't for Antifa there would have been a lot of dead bodies at Charlottesville, not just one.

Sorry, but we will never catch up, not that we want to. We're not the terrorists...

Umm....the guy was a good 50 feet away. He didnt get 'in his face' until the geezer put himself directly in front of the bullhorn.
To be fair, he did invite him over with, "Come over here and have a discussion about racism, boy"

if it wasn't for Antifa there would have been a lot of dead bodies at Charlottesville, not just one.

I don't think this can be said with any amount of certainty. Because that one didn't die defending some larger attack not involving Antifa. In fact, I speculate had Antifa not been there, there would have been zero deaths at that event.

Yeah, Warren should have just revoked the guy's security clearance.
