Top 10 major gaffes made by Barack Obama(largely covered up by the media).

Let me get this straight. If it's jokes shown every day at the expense of republicans, it's all good. Its also good if the gaffes are used even more often, to demonize republicans, even to the point where its exaggerated and repeated for years after the fact.

But ANY mention of gaffes made by democrats, is somehow unfair and in bad taste? You've actually helped provide more evidence for mainstream media bias with that opinion. The very fact that you see the exact same subject with such a blatant double standard, with the only difference being party affiliation, is evidence that you've been manipulated by the primary purveyors of political information(msm).

I think you're on the wrong track here.

Currently CO2 concentration is around 400±ppm. CO2 becomes toxic around 50,000±ppm. Were safe from CO2 poisoning. I didn't see or hear Bachmann's statement or its context but I have heard or seen many many statements trying to make CO2 a boogeyman for political purposes. Perhaps she was addressing some of those statements.

btw... high oxygen levels can be toxic too.

Here is her comment, in some context:

Carbon dioxide is natural. It occurs in Earth. It is a part of the regular lifecycle of Earth. In fact, life on planet Earth can’t even exist without carbon dioxide. So necessary is it to human life, to animal life, to plant life, to the oceans, to the vegetation that’s on the Earth, to the, to the fowl that — that flies in the air, we need to have carbon dioxide as part of the fundamental lifecycle of Earth. There isn’t even one study that can be produced that shows that carbon dioxide is a harmful gas.

The logic is painfully stupid, as many things are helpful at low levels, harmful at too high a level(hint: the issue is too high a level, causing changes to heat retention). And contrary to what she said, there are literally hundreds of studies that show carbon dioxide to be harmful. Co2 at higher levels is even harmful to plants according to studies, reducing resistance to some pests and reducing the protein in fruits and vegetables.

CO2 is certainly toxic. It’s not even an arguable point.

Virtually everything is toxic in some sense...the dose makes the poison.

But in your stumbling attempt to describe science, you are pretending that CO2 is not harmful to the environment...and that’s also just patently untrue.

We know elevated CO2 levels are causing significant warming and changing the global environment substantially. This is definitely harmful to the established ecosystems, and gradually and clearly getting more harmful to humans, in terms of habitat and infrastructure.

You might want to listen to the people who understand science rather than idiots that conclude that ‘CO2 is not a harmful gas’, or listening to an evangelical political kook about matters of science.

Did he suddenly become irrelevant because of that?

It's still amazingly funny.

Irrelevant because Emperor Cheeto has set an new bar where you can make fun of the appearance of a political opponent's wife and question whether their father took part in a president's assassination.

In a lot of ways, yes he is irrelevant. He holds no office, is not a candidate for anything....he's a citizen.

Does he know this?
