Kamala Harris: "It was 8 immigrants who the Declaration of Independence"

No, she was making a point about "Americanism" and emigration. It's good point and one that folks should think about.

Making a point about "Americanism" while omitting the 48 signers who were born Americans? Like I said, Kamala and the DNC take Americans for granted, while fighting for immigrants, chiefly illegal immigrants.

She didn't omit anybody: she said 8 were not born in the country.

Harris: A reminder this Fourth of July: it was eight immigrants who signed the Declaration of Independence. Happy Independence Day."

What does "it was eight immigrants" infer? That there were no other signers of the Declaration of Independence. She purposely chose to not mention the fact that the overwhelming majority of signers were not immigrants, thus omission. Or you can chalk it up to stupidity (not knowing who the signers were). Your choice.

It means - that eight of the signers of the Declaration of of Independence had emigrated to the American colonies.

Why would there be unlimited Democratic voters because of that? Are GOP policies that bloody awful that nobody who is an immigrant would support them? Interesting.

But bloody awful to whom, immigrants or the native born heritage population? The reason immigrants have almost always tended to support Democrats has primarily been due to:

A. First and foremost because immigrants are a large class of very needy supplicants and moochers. The party that empty's the public treasury to provide more free stuff is going to be the more popular one. Medicaid (Obamacare), higher education grants and loans, public education, federal housing, section 8, English as a second language, and all sorts of utility cost breaks and other breaks for them as "poor" is going to cause immigrants to align with the guy throwing funds from the public taxpayer at them.

B. Foreign immigrants are from societies with ideologies that rationalize and moralize mooching - fabian socialism, radical unionism, or generic nationalist left populism (e.g. Mexico). They are often of the lumpen proletariat, (not small businessmen).

C. Democrats has let it be known that the native white working class interests are secondary to the interests foreign citizens, legal and illegal. They have also staked out minority (and sex) identity as far more important class, and oppose the pressure to assimilate that might soften their tribal identity - pivotal to securing votes.

D. The only immigrants that tend to side with Republicans are those that have recently lived elsewhere under the ideology of the Democratic party to the extreme; i.e. the former citizen inmates living in communist regimes. Cubans, South Vietnamese, Venezuelans, etc. have historically understand the nature of the American left fellow-travelers, and don't feel nearly as compelled to become democrats as others.

Therefore, the Democratic Party (along with cheap labor Republicans) rabbit foot it to the throw the door open so as to stuff the national borders with people who will vote for them. Without immigration, this country would have remained center-right and most likely increasingly so.

Yeah, you keep peddling that nonsense champ. See how many elections you guys win the future. In fact, I hope people like you become the default leaders of the GOP.

I dont know if this woman has the chops or not but she has the resume to really shake things up next go around of the POTUS SWEEPSTAKES.

Harris is either A) ignorant of the fact that the Declaration of Independence was actually signed by more than just '8 immigrants', or B) deliberately trying to mislead people on Twitter into thinking the Declaration of Independence was an immigrant invention. 48 of the men who signed the Declaration of Independence were born on American soil.

I suppose a more accurate statement would have been "Of the 56 signees of the Declaration of Independence, 8 were immigrants" but that doesn't come across as well as basically saying, "Not all of the signers of the Declaration of Independence were Americans...some were immigrants".
