Kennedy's retirement proves liberals deserved to lose

SCOTUS with Kennedy was a center right institution. After Trump and McConnell have their way, it will be far more conservative. Trump is already reshaping the entire judiciary for a generation. This did not occur by happenstance. This was accomplished by decades of work.

This was the Trump administration's background campaign to convince Kennedy to retire. This was McConnell holding up Garland's confirmation. This was project RedMap successfully redistricting so that the GOP could have the majorities it has today. This was a right wing media campaign during Obama's presidency that won state seats in astounding numbers. All of this has culminated to this moment of absolute total defeat of liberals and progressives in this country. This is political decimation.

The left wing deserves it. The political miscalculations that have allowed this to occur should dismiss any notion that the left wing establishment is capable of securing the interests of their base. If today is not the wake up call the left wing needs to realize that things need to change and a new kind of relavant and savvy liberal needs to emerge, then maybe Trump should be crowned dictator for life and we can all take a knee and swear our fealty to him forever.

I sorta agree with you. 2010 midterms was an admonishment of the left going to try far left for people's comfort. Instead of getting the message they keep doubling down and moving further left. They need to get moderate and become civil or I don't see them winning much
