Many posters here have wondered about my nickname for Swampy and where it came from. It comes from facts. It comes from his campaign slogan and it comes from the people he has surrounded himself with.
He has made deals with for profit prisons, made deals with sketchy congressman for their unwavering support, made deals with defense contractors and the oil & gas lobbyists who line his pockets, he has made deals with countries to further real estate interests and to appease his authoritarian goals. Deals for Ivanka’s trademarks, deals for Jared’s skyscraper bailout and his own. Deals for his taxes, deals for predatory lenders, polluters, and pardons for political points. Getting rich by golfing at his own resorts and charging the American people 5-10 times the normal rate. Stacked the WH w/corrupt individuals who are bleeding the government's cash dry and restructuring it for his own personal gain. Advertising his own properties by hosting fundraisers and meetings there and using the Presidency to profit at his clubs. Paid off pornstars and possibly abortions w/ campaign $$$. Sits down and makes deals w/dictators more than our allies. He is an angry sad little man who can't spell and constantly promotes Conspiracy Theories and Fox News talking heads in his often insane tweets.
His campaign was no better. He lied about his taxes. His Education. His Intelligence. His Expertise. His Judgement. His connections w/the Russians (82+). He also lied about how he ran his campaign (as well as the people involved) and how he won the election. By using shady data firms to steal information about the American People and to use targeted ads on social media to sway their opinions.
His results are no better: No deal on immigration. No deal on health care. No deal on gun control. No deal on spending cuts. No deal on Nafta. No deal on China trade. No deal on steel and aluminum imports. No deal on Middle East peace. No deal on the Qatar blockade. No deal on Syria. No deal on Russia. No deal on Iran. No deal on climate change. No deal on Pacific trade. The only deal he made (after much much whining), was the taxscam deal where he told his rich buddies they all got much richer. He attacks Republicans more than Democrats, Attacks the media more than the Russians, and he attacks the intelligence officers more than people doing actual crimes.
Personally he has lied about his health, his wealth, his wife, and his life.
That is the very definition of The Swamp.
