Help me out here

For almost anything to pass congress the senate needs 60 votes. Republicans do not have 60 votes, and parties are so divided, agreeing on nothing, that only the most minor legislation ever makes it through.

Wrong. The GOP's draconian health disaster bill failed, 49 to 51 last year

McCain, Collins, Murkowski, and Corker come to mind.

So, Republicans. (is that right? those are all Republicans?) Republicans prevent the Republicans from governing. And it's the Democrats who are preventing Trump from governing.
Maybe Trump should become a Democrat. Has that ever happened? Maybe Trump should just abandon the party that has abandonded him and go back to the Democrats. Schmoozing with NYC city councilers. Lawn parties with the Clintons. Soirees with Hollywood A-listers at Mar-A-Lago.

51 Republicans, 47 Democrats. Even with the 2 independents voting with the Democrats you have a majority.

You know very well that in the Senate, a majority is 60. Republicans don't have that majority.

The Republicans have control of the White House, the Senate, the House of Representatives and most of the Governor's mansions. How is it the fault of the Democrats that they can't get anything done? What do they need that will enable them to govern?

Trump inherited an economic boom. There was nearly full employment, the GDP was climbing, the stock markets booming, why did he have to blow it all up and start over? How was the economy so broken that he had to take drastic measures to fix it?

Can anyone explain these things in simple terms?

I was going to help you out there on your whole suspiciously naive post but that highlighted section showed you weren't serious.

In dumb righty speak

"Trump good, liberals are stupid poopyheads"

Because the GOP is populated with tax cutters and tax roll backers. There are GOP RINOS like Ryan and GOP conservatives like Cruz. And lastly the GOP is less “hive-like” than the democrats. The DNC is like prisoners with a lot of time on their hands.o

Democrats are like the Borg, just drones with Soros mind-control.

Trump inherited an economic boom.
Hope youre wearing waders up over your head and using a snorkle.

Your perspective of reality reminds of the three leftist econometricians who went out hunting, and came across a large deer. The first econometrician fired, but missed, by a meter to the left. The second econometrician fired, but also missed, by a meter to the right. The third econometrician didn't fire, but shouted in triumph, "We got it! We got it!"

It's simple. The great negotiator isn't the great negotiator that his fan base believed him to be.

And the Republicans asked for this. They spent the last 6 years of Obama's Presidency refusing to work with him. I predicted this 2 years ago. What goes around, comes around. The Republicans made a terrible error in judgment - well, a few of them actually. Up to and including their pledges of loyalty to the failure that now squats in the White House.

He's more like the guy that stomps his feet when he doesn't get his way.

It's not, just like it wasn't the Republican's fault when Democrats couldn't get things done or done in the way their base wanted when they have a super majority.

And that's a GOOD thing.

Why you say?

Because it means that even when a single party is in power, there's still a measure of checks and balances. In the cases we're talking about, it's the fact that when a particular party obtains significant control from the other party, it causes interparty differences to become even more pronounced. By taking away the unifying "enemy" of the other side, it then causes groups to look at the splits and chasms within their own party.

Back in the early parts of Obama's Presidency you had the split between some of the more progressive members of the party and the "blue dog" types. In this early time of Trumps Presidency, it's the break down between the "establishment" and anti-populist sides of the party against the Trump supporting populist, nationalists, and "outsiders".

In those situations, it only takes a few people disagreeing with the majority of those within their own party to swing things due to the unified opposition of the other side at such times.

this all happened before during the Clinton/G W Bush transition

Dems hand off a good economy to the Reps & then the Reps **** it all to Hell & hand Obama a 'fixer upper' ..........

Trump was handed a good economy & Trump will leave the next guy a toilet bowl full of feces ...........

this all happened before ..........

I bet you were one of the doomsayers claiming the stock market would tank when he took office as well. Spare me your crystal ball predictions, they are worthless.

And how's that workin out for 'ya?

Actually, pretty damn good. How's it workin out for 'ya? We still have a a Republican president, a Republican Senate, a Republican House, and 2/3's of the states have Republican governors and state legislatures.

The media tells people to tell their representatives to vote 'X' over 'Y'. It's just that simple! Brilliant! Thank you so much for clarifying it for me.

You ask for help that don't like the answer you get, go figure. Glad you ain't in NJ.

Ya' still have trade wars, humiliation from around the world, priced out of sight health care, what's going to be a collapsed coal industry (because of the trade war), little kids ripped from their parents as a bargaining chip, a North Korean dictator who has been handed everything he ever wanted while we get zip a dee-doo-dah, an FBI investigation that has turned 20 indictments, and a president who keeps comin up a liar on fact checks; and that's just in the first year...

Yeah it's goin great.

Yeah it's goin great.

We want trade wars because the US can't lose a trade war when we have the huge trade deficit that we have.

No humiliation, just other countries ticked off that they are no longer walking all over the US.

Health care was priced out of sight as soon as Obamacare was law.

Coal? Seriously? You want to talk about coal when your gal pal Hillary said right up front she wanted to wipe out coal jobs?

Kids ripped from their parents will help stop illegal immigration, which will help the US in many ways.

North Korea? Seriously? Kim has quit nuclear testing, quit missile launches, given us back prisoners, bombed their own nuclear test facility, and are on the road to denuclearization and you want to suggest that is a bad thing? Are you denying that South Korea is in Trump's corner?

An IG investigation which has shown the FBI is a total biased joke, and Mueller's investigation which has turned up absolutely ZERO in Trump colluding with Russia to influence the election and ZERO evidence that Trump obstructed justice?

Obama's long list of lies: https://video.search.yahoo.com/sear...077c3a736d7d9b754d986d7e739b52ff&action=click

Of course Trump has totally destroyed liberalism and that's why he's doing so great! So, I understand how you think the way you do. In your face! More salt in your wounds. I love it.

What do they need that will enable them to govern?

An agenda.

They stood for nothing for a decade and when the dog caught the car it showed. Turns out nihilism isn't much of a governing philosophy.

Trump hasn't blown anything up. He hasn't really done much. Neither have Republicans. Democrats are able to block a lot in the Senate mostly because A) their base, infuriated by a President who delights in infuriating them enables (and insists on) tribal conformity and B) Republicans turned out to like talking about policy more than they liked actually doing it.

3% of the economy at worst.

humiliation from around the world

Depends on your definition of "humiliation." If you mean letting other countries institute lopsided trade agreements, the award goes to Obama.

priced out of sight health care

The collapse of exchanges, not keeping your own doctor, no $2500/years savings ...
Those are all on Obama.

what's going to be a collapsed coal industry

You might want to check with Hillary and Obama about that. Trump hasn't given hundreds of millions to solar panel companies that promptly bankrupted, either.

little kids ripped from their parents as a bargaining chip

Which was done by Obama, Bush, and Clinton before (as well as Trudeau, who blatantly lied about it), and which happens to US children whose parents break the law. Why is that fine for US citizens, but not fine for illegal aliens?

a North Korean dictator who has been handed everything he ever wanted while we get zip a dee-doo-dah

By the way, Clinton called this a "framework," so he could sneak it past the Senate.

Indictments of Russians, whom NO ONE has accused Trump of colluding with. Before you get too mad at the Russians, be advised that we do the same thing to them. Although to be fair, Strzok and Page are likely to be indicted as well, and Trump will somehow be at fault for it, of course.

Here's an article that documents some of the 81 times the US has interfered with elections in other countries between 1946 and 2000. Thus, it doesn't include the taxpayer money Obama spent to try to influence Israel's election.

The U.S. is no stranger to interfering in the elections of other countries

Nothing you've said changes anything I posted; you're just trying to do a run around. And there have been 2 indictments now and 5 guilty pleas, so Trump is in quick sand.
