Did Trump just push for a single market system?

He said no tarriffs, no subsidies, and no barriers. That exists. That was proposed with the Trans-Pacific Partisanship and the 11 nations it was going to involve before Trump tanked it. That was being suggested with the Transalantic Trade and Investment Partnership that the Trump administration abandoned. The European Union itself is a damn single market system!

I am really starting to wonder if Trump even knows what he is talking about when he discusses trade. This reminds me of when he said "who knew healthcare was so complicated?" That does not bode well.

Because without their tariffs and barriers, the USA would drown them. Every country tries to protect itself. Why shouldn’t the USA? The post WW2 economy-building trade structure has met its goal. Now it’s time to go back to basics.

BTW, you do know that the more successful Trump is the more the three (or four) presidents reputations are being shredded.

So yeah. A lot of people are not happy seeing success of an outsider.

Trump talks wildly out of his ass and has no actual idea what he is advocating let alone the implications of polices that would flow from it.

You are right, he simply does not know what he is talking about..... that goes for trade and just about everything.

If America ended its subsidies on things like corn and fuels, I think you might be surprised what effect it would have on the markets.

I firmly believe the only things that Trump really understands are cheating on his wives with younger women, believing himself to be god's gift to women, grabbing *****, and generally being a reprobate ............

TPP wasn't going to abolish tariffs. It was only going to reduce them, and then all the signatories would have a say about who got tariffed. That's why the agreement was a rip off.

It was going to cut over 18,000 tarriffs, which was more than 90% of tge tarriffs with an end goal to get to 0.
