Democrats Roll Out Anti-Corruption Message for 2018

Damn. I think they may have a winner here!

As long as they walk the walk, they might get some real mileage out of this.
If the want anti-corruption they're going to have to expel both Clintons from the party.

Mrs. Clinton is the most investigated person in American History and has been charged with NOTHING!

President Obama and Sec. Kennedy have never even been investigated.

They are all RETIRED

Well, Hillary's problems aren't over. You know that, right?

And if it's found that Obama, Kerry, Clapper, Brennan, Lynch, oh...and many more...are involved in this Trump/Russia mess, they will have big problems.

It doesn't matter if they are retired or not.

In any case, with them...as Dems or part of a Dem administration...being involved, this will splash back on any other Dems running for office and it'll make this anti-corruption platform look like a bad joke.

I'm not condoning illegal immigration. My family came legally according to the rules of the day; that they were successful is NOT a false argument. I am saying this has gone on for generations, we need that labor force so it's time to step up and do something legally to facilitate their entry into our work force.
Fair enough.

I thought you were arguing for illegal immigration. Sorry for any misunderstanding.

My harp isn't with immigrants per se, I have the greatest respect for them. My problem is with illegal immigration and open borders.

That's a very BIG IF. But IF they broke the law they should be prosecuted to the full extent of the law … AS SHOULD djt!

Hillary's been well examined & investigated to no effect. Her so called corruption is largely a Republican fantasy. But Bill does have a #MeToo problem, so I do agree there.

I'd prefer they both lay low to be honest, and let the party move forward to a new era.

They will.

I don't think she's ever been investigated on the Clinton Foundation and her role as Secretary of State.

There's no reason to believe that anyone from Obama's admin will be indicted.

Even if that laughably remote possibility came to pass, it wouldn't mean a thing to the corruption from Trump that's currently under investigation.

Still, I can see why some people would desperately try and portray Obama as the corrupt one.

You are either unaware of current events or you are in denial.

The Democrats Need to Get Much Tougher on These Trump Scandals or They Will Lose the Midterms

My sentiment exactly. You don't *****foot around gunfire. You directly attack the source.
Being a dickhead isn't a scandal nor is excessive Tweeting. What other scandals are you going to investigate? The Access Hollywood? Storm? The fact his erstwhile campaign manager forgot to pay his taxes ten years ago? The scandalous amount we're paying Mueller to chase absolutely every lead except those that actually lead to collusion?

Fair enough.

Where are these mythical "open borders" exactly?

I'd love to start with Scott Pruitt, then move on to Donald Jr. and Kushner.

There's no shortage of corruption in the Trump administration.

Still trying to find yourself, eh? :2razz:

I found a car tire that had somehow become pretzel shaped, twisted. I took it home, mounted it. It is now a sculpture called Tire Tired Time and will be shown at an amateur show early summer.

Problem is, I'm a painter and drawer not a sculpturer.

I could see a concern with her foundation. I was too lazy to put it in my post, but should have. There might be some grey areas there, but then again maybe not.

Trust me, I'm as tired of dark money, foundations, business orgs, and all the other money cesspools in politics. When it comes to money in politics, I think the Brits got it right; they allow next to nothing, everything else is criminal bribery, and they enforce it!

My artistic passion has always been music, particularly guitar & piano. But I always had my love of the written & spoken word, above all. There's just something about wordsmith, including writing lyrics. And I never lost my appreciation of architecture.

You know...I'm thinking the **** is going to hit the fan before they can make good use of this pitch. That **** is going to splash all over the Democrats.

The only thing that might be able save them is if they include Obama and his people with their nonsense about Trump. Somehow I don't think they'll be able to throw Obama, Hillary, Kerry and all the rest under the bus. But who knows? The ends justify the means, right?

I'm inclined to agree, and think this is just yet another case of 'blame the other guys for what you've been doing all along', something it appears they've specialize in.

There is more collusion wit the Russians in Hillary, the DNC, and the Democratic party than there ever was anywhere else.

I've got a few years on me, much of it as a Dem, then a long indie hiatus, and now just returned Dem due to Trump. My "libertarian-left" lean is the closest the forum has to me likely being mostly a social democrat, in politically terms. And yes, I like Bernie. I'm actually fairly conservative in how I conduct my personal and family life, however.

But I greatly enjoy political analysis & strategizing, so not all my posts are about my specific desires or ideology. My posts here now to you, are a bit of both analysis & desire.

I do believe the Dems indeed need to move to secure the border. And I believe it will not cost them much with their base. They can still fight for DACA, which I believe is the right thing to do, and they can also argue immigration policy that differs from the GOP. But they've got to get off with supporting illegal things related to immigration. I don't see illegality issues as being winners, besides the basic fact that illegality is not right.

Wedge or not, I don't see arguing for illegal immigration working for them going forward. There's plenty of legit wedge issues they can find with Trump these days, if they so chose.

Actually I grew up in Brooklyn about the same time as Bernie. In my earlier years I felt the same way as Bernie does now. I joke that I grew out of it and Bernie went to Vermont and never did.

I was a hard core Democrat because I felt (and still do) that everyone deserves an equal opportunity to succeed. That seems to have changed to a call for equal results, that I reject.

Even if the Dems are stupid enough to run on this platform, it doesn't matter. If they get elected they'll just ignore their promises.

ALL the Dems do the same thing the Rep Elites...like McCain...do: Say what the voters want to hear and then do whatever the hell they want.

Well, they did a pretty good job expelling the #MeToo transgressors, whereas the GOP seem to either embrace them or stick with them until the bitter end.

So in general I think Dems may have the upper hand in this, besides just that above.

The Dems may have given the boot to their butt/boob grabbers, but they still have Congress Critters with highly questionable ethics and those who still refuse to condem racist Louis Farrakhan.

I have no idea why the Dems won't get behind a secure border, because they really need to to.

Because, like some Republicans, some of their donors want the cheap labor to keep coming in unchallenged.

As I said, the Democrats should seriously consider throwing the lot of them under the bus...especially if they want to run on an anti-corruption platform.

Starting with Debbie Wasserman Schultz and Nutty Nancy Pelosi.

Amen. Donald Trump, his Cabinet, his administration, and the 115th GOP majority Congress have taken Washington-corruption to a whole other level.

And most amazing of all, they are quite open and blatant about it.

Yes, Trump handed them this on a platter.
