Trump PA Speech

“I mean, Nancy Pelosi, you can’t have that. And Conor Lamb, Lamb the Sham, right? Lamb the Sham. He’s trying to act like a Republican, so he gets—He won’t give me one vote,” Trump said. “Look, I don’t know him. He looks like a nice guy. I hear he’s nice looking. I think I’m better looking than him. I do. I do. I do, and he’s slightly younger than me. Slightly. No, I heard that, then I saw—he’s OK. He’s alright. Personally, I like Rick Saccone. I think he’s handsome.”

Creepy. Like most everything that comes out of Trump's mouth.

Quite telling that he has to turn everything into a campaign rally for himself.

We will soon see if it worked. IMHO, Trump trotted out the steel tariff for use in that regional race. I am not a Trump fan, far from it actually, but it's hard to argue that his speaking "style" does not work.

The entire tariff thing is for Pennsylvania, IMO.

His speaking style works with his supporters. It would be better for the country if he learned to speak coherently and like a President, but that won't happen.

And a lot of steel mills are now opening up because of what I did

Has the President stated which steel mills he was speaking of yet?

I'm sure there is an example of one steel mill somewhere in the country that opened up a few hundred jobs and it just happened to be in the same week Trump signed the tariff bill. I expect Trumpsters to find that example soon and brag about it.

My point was that he didn't talk about Saccone in a personal way at all. Nothing about Saccone's ideas, or good things he's said or done, or why he would be a good representative for the voters. It was just, "he's handsome and he'll do what I say and everybody else is horrible". It was really just all about Trump.

I can't argue with that - that is just Trump being Trump. Saccone, from what little that I have read/heard, is not the world's best candidate and should not have needed a POTUS visit to get him elected in that district. Trump likely has no idea what those voters want (as far as local issues) so he spewed his normal array of nonsense and enjoyed the applause.

There is no reasonable doubt that his style works for him, but if recent elections are an indicator of anything, it is that his style does not work for anyone else.

The Democrats had a similar problem when Obama was president. He too had a base that would turn out for him but not for anyone else.

Huh? Since when is the media not supposed to comment (cheerlead, bash) on words said in a political rally?

Political commentary is fine, it's just not news - it is opinion. Folks have come to accept (even expect?) the "news" media to interpret (the true meaning of?) news events rather than simply report them.

Most media bias is simply by omission - if their favorite party is "R" then they omit "R" if the story about a candidate/politician is bad but make sure to include "D" if the story about a candidate/politician is bad. How many stories about cops shooting white victims are shown nationwide and, of those few, that emphasize the victim's race? I have seen plenty that state the black victim's race even if the cop shooting them was black - because that fits their political agenda.

IMHO, that is a good thing.

Dude trump says stupid stuff so media will report it and try to make sense if it. This speech isn't even a big story atm. Devos on 60 mins now that's a big story. I must point out that this is an opinion OP. My opinion which is why I did not post it in breaking news. Are you really this triggered by the limited commentary this reporter put in the article? If anything Chris is trying to clear up trumpian. Or are you telling me you understand perfectly every line trump spoke during the speech?

Oh wait you didn't listen to the full thing. Never mind.

Yes he was there to promote Saccone... but at times he sounded like he was stumping for himself ahead of 2020. There's been a lot in the press how Lamb has completely distanced himself from Pelosi and at times sounds more like a Republican.

Trump got his digs in on the media, Democrats etc. but I wish he would do it without swearing. Sometimes when I watch Trump at these rally settings, I am reminded of that movie My Cousin Vinny.

Did Trump help Saccone? There should be new poll numbers out by tomorrow,

This narcissistic buffoon gets closer and closer to a full blown homage to Mussolini every time he speaks to a rabid crowd.

I loved the part where he "was just joking" about wanting to be President for Life like the Chinese leader is now doing. That is at least TEN MAJOR statements that Trump has made that kicked him in his own sorry ass so he then hid behind the lame "just joking" excuse. I am going to add that to the ever growing list.

Have you? As I stated trump did more than lie

Every post you make is on the same subject. I suppose the next thread is going to be about how Trump lies about the number of diet cokes he drinks in a day. Campaigns are all about lying. It is the American way.

Here's bits of Trump's Speech in PA. Where he only talks about himself, conflates, lies, brags to his idiot supporters.

Oh, no you don't. Eight whole years of listening to that absolute megalomaniac, god-wannabe Barack Obama using "I" and "me" as his #1 and #2 most used words in every.single.speech. and NOW you take exception?

Worry about what the man does.

Oh, and there's a steel mill in Missouri that's being built.
Maxine Waters IS an ignoramus.
NBC IS worse than CNN.

I can post about whatever I want, you commies. You think I'm not worried about what he does when I post all the stupid crap he does everyday??? Wow. You guys don't take rejection well.
