13 Russians indicted by Special Councel.

Stop and examine yourself. This was a concerted effort by a hostile foreign power to undermine the legitimacy of our political system. This a direct attack on U.S. sovereignty. It's now Trump's responsibility to confront our enemies, defend our integrity as a nation, and prevent this from occurring again. That's what matters here.

Thank you Ghostlyjoe; This is exactly what is important here. it is also notable that, even after this indictment, this president hasn't made any effort at all to instruct his justice departmnet or intelligence department to take offensive action to twart this from occurring again. Even though this president has the sanctions bill overwhelmingly approved by both houses of congress, he wont implement them. Why is this president so weak when it comes to a clear enemy of our nation? I think that is a very important question to consider.

I am really surprised at he shock and outrage expressed over what the Russians have done. Sure we should not like what they did. That being said is this something that is so different than what they and we have done for decades? The big difference in my mind is that figured out how to use social media for their attacks.

What do you think we spend tens of billions on for the CIA etc. Do you really think it is spread truth throughout the world?

Dear Washunut, This is not surprising to me, it is alarming. Just as the attack on 911 was alarming. I do not pretend that we are without fault. But my country was attacked. Even if we are not perfect, we as a nation have a right to self defense, just as we did in 911. Difference here though, we have the correct enemy in our sites. But our president would rather consider how this indictment might assist in his OWN DEFENSE, instead of concerning himself with our NATION'S DEFENSE.

That the United States has, at times, been a bad actor is irrelevant to the issue of national sovereignty. Our republican form of government means we have the rights and tools to mold our national character -- in fact, we have a responsibility to do so. Whatever our failings may be or have been, what is at issue here is our ability to continue to self-govern -- for better or ill.

Your argument is essentially that because we've attacked others in the past, we now no longer have the moral authority to defend ourselves from attack. I fully disagree. I'm no nationalist. But I do support a sovereign America founded on classically liberal ideals like individual freedom. That's worth defending.

That said, I do want America to be a better actor in the world than we've been in the past.

Amen Brother!

No my argument is I am tired of the faux outrage regarding an act that has been on-going by both sides for decades. Not saying we should condone it just not act like this is something new and shocking. The only thing new is using social media. Something that was proved effective when we shoved out the dictator of Egypt to install the Muslim Brotherhood. We need better protections against this new threat I agree. How the government will go about stopping this type of attack is important.

O.K. I like that proposition a little better. But again <i am not surprised .

This Russian thing doesn't matter...nothing but scapegoating.
America voted fair and square and our President won as expected with no outside interference.
Word has it our President has been vindicated. I believed he has nothing to worry about.
To the liberal/Demos...
Time for Plan H...gotta love em.

Keep smoking that stuff and you wont ever have to deal with reality. But reality can still bite you in the Bleep.

Read what I said again and then get back to me. Trump is a liar as usual. There was meddling.

I could possibly be wrong, but when did Trump say that, I’ve only heard him say there was zero collusion with him and Russians.

It's not "either/or," Joe. I (we) can be incensed at Russia interfering in our election process and still ask the question, "Where is the Trump indictment for wrongdoing?" We can do both.

Yet again you obviously aren’t reading what I typed. Trump is a liar and there was meddling.

Yawn. If you hate the man so much make sure you mail in your paycheck raise Trump approved to the IRS.

Nothing of what you posted has anything to do with what I said. Do us both a favor and don’t bother relying since you are obviously not reading what I typed. Logicman, what an oxymoron with you.

if the FBI knew in 2014, then why didn't they and Obama do anything about it then? If they didn't take it seriously, then why should we now?

All you need to know is that your sophomoric "get Trump" crusade just got flushed down the toilet, LOL!

Keep pining away for your Trump-Russia Collusion pipe dream, LOL! It's hilarious to watch you guys beat that dead horse.

You liberal/Demos should give up trying to have something on our President Trump.
Good luck with Plan M.

ANDREW MCCARTHY at National Review nails this:

Russia Launches ‘Information’ War, U.S. Responds with Lawsuit and Self-Destruction

Nevertheless, we are talking now about the foreign adversary. The Justice Department’s comments Friday elucidated that information warfare is being orchestrated by Russia — i.e., the regime — not a random bunch of Russians. As we’ve stressed over the years in connection with many terrorism indictments, if a foreign power is engaged in warfare against the United States, an indictment is not a serious response — especially an indictment on which no one is ever going to be prosecuted. Deputy Attorney General Rosenstein suggested on Friday that, with formal charges now filed, the Justice Department will turn to the next step in the legal process: seeking the defendants’ extradition. Once the Russians stop laughing, I imagine they’ll send us a curt note in Cyrillic — or maybe they’ll just flip us the bird, the universal language.

There are reasons besides ineffectiveness to be concerned about turning this diplomatic dispute into a criminal-justice issue.

The gist is the Mueller is the wrong tool for the job, should have never been appointed, these indictments are pure politics, and the Russians are winning.

Check it out.

In reality, what happened here could not be more patent: The Kremlin hoped to sow discord in our society and thus paralyze our government’s capacity to pursue American interests. The Russian strategy was to stir up the resentments of sizable losing factions. It is not that Putin wanted Trump to win; it is that Putin figured Trump was going to lose. That is why the Kremlin tried to galvanize Trump supporters against Clinton, just as it tried to galvanize Sanders supporters against Clinton, and Trump supporters against Cruz and Rubio, during the primaries. It is why the Russians suddenly choreographed anti-Trump rallies after Trump won. The palpable goal was to promote dysfunction: Cripple a likely President Clinton before she could even get started, wound President Trump from the get-go when he unexpectedly won, and otherwise set American against American whenever possible.
