Home Depot co-founder derides Dems for criticizing Trump’s tax overhaul

Oh look, right on cue a deflection, and a personal attack, and absolutely nothing to support your position or refute my argument. Color me surprised, its pretty much all conservatives have to offer these days. You might as well just come right out and say "hey, you are right, I got nothing."

So to address your stupid "personal responsibility" nonsense, Guess what, I'm doing alright for myself, many other democrats are doing alright for themselves. I know, its hard to imagine from people who have no idea what empathy is, but I and many dems are not fighting for ourselves, but for those disadvantaged and struggling as company's continue to make record profits while their employees pays are stagnant.

And its completely ridiculous to bring up the "personal responsibility" card from the side that is whining the democrats didn't do enough for them and their rural town is crumbling with no jobs, heroin and meth outbreaks, demanding the government help them out. Voting ofr Trump because they thought he would do something for them. What about their personal responsibility? The hypocrisy from the right is absolutely astounding. How people can be so smitten about it, and think they are winning any arguments, is amazing.

And many of the business HAVE announced wage increases, in addition to both the increases in the number of jobs and the bonuses. Or have you just conveniently ignored that reality?

No...democrats dont vote for tax cuts...they vote for deficit spending. Dood....do you realize how stupid you look trying to maintain a fiscally responsible posture while supporting an administration that more than doubled the entire cumulative national debt of every prior administration COMBINED? I already posted why this is all nonsense. Those who proposed the tax-cut claimed that it would eventually lead to higher wages due to increased investment. If wages are rising now, it's because of the tight job market, not the tax-cut.

Meanwhile, Kimberley Clarke has stated it will use their tax-cut to fund measures to slash the number of employees.

You guys are a crack up. Kimberly Clark is reorganizing to SAVE as any jobs as possible, in an action that has been ongoing for years.

"The company, which already conducted voluntary layoffs and hinted in April that the job cuts would be coming, said it expects the cuts to save about $150 million a year, or about 25 cents per share. It will mostly affect second-quarter results, when the company will record $110 million of the costs. It estimates total restructuring costs between $140 million to $150 million.
"These actions, while difficult, are necessary to help us emerge from this demanding economic environment as a stronger company," CEO Tom Falk said in a statement.
In the second half of the year, the company expect the restructuring will translate into savings of 10 cents per share.

You are desperate to pin every business failing on the "tax cuts" and cant muster the grace to acknowledge any of the announced gains. Pathetic.

Right on cue, yep, actual data is always trumped by how you feel. I will take the bank accounts of the American people over your perception and placing blame on everyone else for your poor financial condition. What is it about liberals who believe they always know what is best for someone else? You are doing all right? Does that make you smarter than others? there is a reason you keep losing Congressional elections, figure it out or keep losing htem.

The numbers presented last night can be verified at bls.gov, bea.gov, and treasury.org. All are accurate but don't meet the liberal narrative of gloom and doom. The American people will always vote their pocketbooks which is why November 2018 is going to be a wake up call that again will be ignored by radicals. the liberal leadership sitting on their asses while good news is being presented sends the message to the American public ex radical supporters that is going to resonate throughout the country this fall in the Congressional elections.

Except.....all of those statements are true. Home Depot stores are kinda dirty and the employees are hard to find and not very helpful. Lowes is a similar but much nicer store. Chick Fil A's chicken DOES suck. Its the most boring fast food sandwich out there. A piece of chiken with a dab of mayo and a pickle...not lettuce....no tomato. I've never understood why people like Chik-fil-A. I ate it once and thought it was disgusting...and Papa John's pizza is not good pizza. No pizza chain really makes all that great of pizza (Pizza Hut, Dominoes, etc), but Papa John's is particularly bad. Their sauce is WAY too sweet. They use too much sugar in their sauce, perhaps because Americans have a thing about over-consuming sugary products.

If tax cuts work so well, why has the middle class dwindled so much and poverty, directly correlating with ever decreasing tax burden on companies.

I love how instead of actually providing the numbers, you just guide me to some website, like I'm supposed to do your homework for you. What numbers? Wages were going up due low unemployment, they have to compete. Giving a one time $1000 bonus isn't going to get someone barely scraping by a house, a savings, a retirement, it will hardly do anything. Instead of permanent.

The real reason is dirty political tricks REpublicans do, and people like you continually buyy. It is set to expire when a democrat will likely be the president, then Republicans can say "see, Democrats raise taxes" when it expires. Bush's tax cuts conveniently expired while Obama was president.

Because the tax-cuts fell heavily on the wealthy and gave them large cuts. But when they expire, they'll return to only a fraction of what was cut. Different story for the middle class. They will get a tax hike greater than the decline.

They never stopped. I always get a military discount. We just did a 35k remodel on our kitchen, military discount. Before that I tore out three bathrooms, two bedrooms and reconfigured all of that space. Now we have two full baths and a half bath. We turned two bedrooms into one with an attached master bath and build another bedroom in the basement. I got a military discount on all of it. We replaced our roof and yep, military discount. I bought lumber to build a shed yesterday. I saved 174.00 because of my military discount.

Well I'm happy for you. My local Home Depot told me that they stopped giving military discounts, because they build so many homes for veterans every year that they felt they did enough. Those were the manager's exact words. "We've done enough for veterans." So **** them. They won't get a dime of my money.

Every bit of Data presented last night is accurate and can be found at those sites so learn how to investigate vs. buying what you are told. Actual results do matter except to the left who continue to sit on their asses whining and complaining about all the good news being generated.

Yesterday I stated that I was going to take some time off from the forum due to the crazy leftists I am dealing with here but found this article that was too good to pass up and will explain not only why Trump won the election, why the GOP Took the Congress, and why they will gain seats in the midterm.

The SOTU address laid out the actual results generated by Trump over the past year and when you ask a leftists how they are doing most say fine but they are concerned about others. The SOTU Address pointed out actual results showing OTHERS are doing just fine and the economy improving from the Obama Malaise. That coupled with this will explain it but doubt that radicals truly give a damn. Keep it up and keep losing elections
