**** him.

He and the GOP were more concerned with passing their garbage tax bill for their corporate donors, than they were doing simple things, like making sure the government had continued funding, and working with but a handful of Democrats.

They made the mess, now they will own it.

Wow. Quite a turn of events.

So the Dem take-away would seem to be,

"Holding-out works".

But here's the Dem problem with this meeting:

"Who the hell could trust Trump"?

Trump can only sign the legislation or veto it. Trump meeting with Chuck Schumer means that he's doing the job that Paul Ryan and Mitch McConnell should be doing.

Not even a small child would put any stock in Trumps word -- more risky than AiG.

The GOP have sat on the sidelines for a decade accusing the Democrats of playing politics, claiming they could run a more robust government. They've slowly been given the House, the Senate, then the WH, and instead of efficient government, we've been given the most dysfunctional circus ever seen. They can blame the Democrats all they want in the media PR race, but the public is not going to buy the snake-oil this time.

And, so, on the day before the one year anniversary of Trumps inauguration, instead of talk of a "well tuned machine" that would "make America great again", we're talking about an elitist group of drugstore cowboys, shutting the government down for the stupidest of reasons.

Good job GOP.

I would ordinarily opine that he's doing the job the president should be doing - providing leadership!

But in Trump's case, I believe this is a PR stunt. Just as I believe his accidental Presidency was.

Of course it's a PR stunt. It allows Trump to say Chuck wouldn't work with him and assign blame to the Democrats some more.

Exactly.

And if a deal is cut Trump claims he, the great deal-maker, saved the day.

But while trump is all PR, I would not underestimate Schumer at all. Trump has no attention span, and seems to be most influenced by the last person he meets. I wouldn't doubt Schumer gets a great deal, just like last-time.

In a one-on-one meeting with trump, my money's definitely on Schumer!

Considering how trump changes his views depending on the last person he talked to, I wouldn’t be surprised if Stephen Miller tried to intervene

Lets just hope the last person Trump talks to isn't Alex Jones ...

That's what's been hypothesized, with the blown-up bipartisan Lindsey Graham deal.

...Trump can only sign the legislation or veto it...
The problem with this President is that his own party can't figure out what he might do from hour-to-hour.

Bottom line is that the Democrats are willing to shut down the federal government for the sake of ILLEGAL ALIENS. (notice the period at the end of that sentence.)
