I may not have always agreed with Issa, but he's one of the few Republicans left who I still admire.

Washington (CNN)California Republican Rep. Darrell Issa will retire at the end of his term, he announced Wednesday.

Issa, one of the wealthiest members of Congress and among the best-known due to his reputation as a conservative attack dog, is bowing out of what would have been one of the nation's most hotly contested congressional races.

All of these long serving that is to say failed Congress Critters should go home....thanks dude so much for your cooperation.

Interesting, and IMO pretty surprising. He's not even 65, making him a youngin by standards of DC people.

It would’ve been tough for him to win again. He stayed on by less than 1%, and it is fairly likely the midterms will be somewhat more Democratic than 2016.

He's just one more of the old guard to step aside. He came up in the days of bipartisanship and mutual respect. That ship has sailed in California. I don't blame him. It's time for some angrier conservatives to make a run or possibly begin a relevant third party.
