I suppose that's fair, the party in the minority isn't, by definition, taking the lead.

the sides are clear, the messages are clear

Dems - Government works for you to improve your life - someone has to pay for it
Reps - Government works against you and tries to control your life - paying for it is a waste of time

What's not fair is this spin that you've put on it. While I'm sure that's how you see it, there are other, equally valid views, that are what you've expressed.
