A new poll from Monmouth gives more bad news for Trump as only 32% of the nation approves of the job he is doing and a clear majority - 56% - say they disapprove of his job performance. What is even more amazing is that only 24% of women - that is one in four - approves of Trump and that is down a full 12 points since just September.
Monmouth poll: Trump approval rating hits record-low 32 percent | TheHill
Given that women make up a greater percentage of the voting population than men, this has to be disastrous news for Trump and his party with the mid term elections less than a year away and coming off the results in Virginia and Alabama. Even in places where the GOP has been able to win special elections this year, the erosion of support has been staggering from 2016 levels.
Several other polls show a lopsided preference for a generic Dem over a generic Republican in Congress. One has it at 50 to 35, another at 51 to 36. That is 15 points and a huge number.

And the answer to get GOP numbers in the positive seems to be
1- tax cuts for the rich and corporations
2- GOP House members screaming about an FBI employee who has been removed from his position in an attempt to et Trump to fire Mueller and stop the bleeding
Great strategy. :doh:roll::shock:
Trump has been below 40% on his job approval since September according to RCP averages, he currently is at 37.3%. With lows of 33% to highs of 41% which average out according to RCP to its 37.3%

Even independents don't like Trump which in my opinion is the important group. Not Republicans or Democrats. Trump has but a 36% approval rating among indies with 46% disapproving. The rest are in the not sure or undecided column. Independents approve of Trump's job on the economy 39-38%, Education 42-40%, Gun control 36-33%, Terrorism 40-36%, Veterans Issues 38-32%. Those are the positive issues independents view Trump on, all others, Trump is in the negative.

Even though independents agree with Trump on some issues, there are more issues they disagree with him on. But like the issues where Trump is seen positive by independents, the issues he is seen negative is also fairly close percentage wise with not sure or undecided number being high. It's his persona, his character where indies most have a problem with him. Only 28% of independents view Trump's persona as positive while 45% view his character in a negative light. They don't like Trump personally, issues aside. Independents gave Obama a 60% positive rating on his persona/character and G.W. Bush had a 54% positive. Way above Trump's 28%.
