Gun Control

I guess that's one possible response, when proven wrong.

If a Democrat said those exact words today, you and your NRA would target them, with big lobbying dollars. C'mon, you all need your armor piercing bullets, for the impending armageddon.

The NRA doesn't spend much money on lobbying.

you prove you really don't know much about this topic: apparently its the voting patterns of the NRA that motivate your hatred.

That's OK, Ronald Reagan isn't around to dispute your misunderstanding of his intentions. He was for Gun Control in many ways. But you'll continue to spout whatever lies fit your rhetoric.

I guess you cannot understand that I DO NOT CARE what Reagan stood for when it comes to guns. You will appeal to bogus authority to cover up your lack of understanding of the issue because you don't have a valid argument for your desire to ban private citizens from having guns because you don't like the politics of pro gun organizations

your comment about Reagan was completely irrelevant to the post of mine you responded to

Then why'd you post the lies about Reagan, saying he didn't espouse any Gun Control statements while he was in office?

and the NRA is minuscule in terms of "influence" spending compared to the MSM anti gun propaganda.

Oh, are you talking about "propaganda" like the US has one of the highest gun-death rates in the world? Sorry, but facts are not propaganda.

what gun control laws did he support when he was in office. I know he signed a bill that was mainly pro gun that had the idiotic machine gun ban in it but since I was extremely active as a pro gun lobbyist for the last half of his term, I cannot recall any. I checked with former White House asst counsel and he could not recall any either

so tell us, what laws did Reagan push to pass when president

and legal gun owners have very low rates of violence. In fact the group with the highest percentage of gun owners doesn't have rates any higher than bannerrhoid run Eurosocialist nations. Why is that

I already posted this. I'll bow out of this broken-record rhetoric.

As mentioned, you should review history.

1.) Only a few weeks after he left office.
“I do not believe in taking away the right of the citizen for sporting, for hunting and so forth, or for home defense. But I do believe that an AK-47, a machine gun, is not a sporting weapon or needed for defense of a home.”

--Ronald Reagan, in a speech at his 78th birthday celebration in Los Angeles on February 6, 1989.

2.) During his 2nd Term.
“Certain forms of ammunition have no legitimate sporting, recreational, or self-defense use and thus should be prohibited.”

--Ronald Reagan, in an August 28, 1986 signing statement on a bill that banned the production and importation of armor-piercing bullets.

3.) Towards the end of his 2nd Term
“I think maybe there could be some restrictions that there had to be a certain amount of training taken.”

--Ronald Reagan, in a press conference in Toronto on June 21, 1988, suggesting that prospective gun owners should have to receive training before purchasing a firearm.

4.) Towards the end of his 2nd Term
“Well, I think there has to be some (gun) control.”

--Ronald Reagan, during a question-and-answer session with high-school students on November 14, 1988.

this is the best you can do? everyone believes in some gun control. I don't want 5 year old kids carrying sawed off shotguns or hunting the neighborhood cats with an UZI. Reagan talking in TORONTO-wow that's important.

Yep.. and if a republican said those exact words today the NRA would target them and have. So whats your point?

Oh, are you talking about "propaganda" like the US has one of the highest gun-death rates in the world? Sorry, but facts are not propaganda.

Yep.. its propaganda.. because its designed to make it appear that American is more violent and more dangerous than the rest of the world. And the FACT.. is that nothing could be farther from the truth. the fact is.. we have the highest firearm ownership in the world.. and we are among the safest of nations in the world.

Fact is; when radicals or crazy people want to kill others there isn't a lot we can do about it. Not and still live in a free society. There are so many ways to kill, and law enforcement can never identify all the threats. But there is always the urge to "do something". So we collect data on everyone, make lists, and talk about it. It might make us feel better, even more empowered, but there are always ways to kill. And guns are just one way. You can't lock it all up. You can't ban it all. And you can never be 100% sure you've identified all the potential killers.
