56% - Trump UNFIT for office

GWB didn't have much to do with the mortgage crisis. Yes, Obama did have a mess to clean up but the mess was the fault of both parties.

i seem to recall that only the year before the shrub entered the white house, clinton managed a budget that did not add anything to the nation's accumulated deficit
and then dubya immediately initiated a massive tax cut for the rich
followed by a couple of unfunded wars
no, you cannot hold that fool harmless for the events that brought our nation's economy to its knees

It needs be said that Bush the younger was warned way ahead of the crash; economists had been alarmed for years...I forget the event but it was involved Clinton and banking. That's when the Canadian Tories tried to go the same route, it was then the country's economists rose up in protest. The Liberal government of the day tightened restrictions, which meant we barely felt the fall.

And congress is at 15%. Even though they control the government right now they are not getting major things done. Who's to blame?

Congress gets a bad rap because of the Senate.

Think about this, and tell me that I am wrong.

I'm not going to tell you that you are wrong. My question is who is to blame in your opinion.

That's funny. That should be a requirement of participation.

We know how accurate polls are, don't we? The Left, of all groups, should have learned that lesson by now.

You gotta love loyal Trump soldiers. All polls that are negative regarding their messiah are "innacurate". But the moment a poll says something positive the Grand Cheeto and his little army sing its praises.

Comedy gold.

The Great Recession was caused by a mortgage bubble, not by any of the things you mentioned.

the shrub refused to allow the attorney general of new york the opportunity to legally pursue mortgage banking wrongdoing against new york banks - before the economic meltdown

Again, these are bogus figures because 100% of the left is in full resistance mode, skewing the poll.

They are still Americans with opinions and eligible for any poll.

Much as I find myself laughing at the current state of DC, I have to ask; what does the public plan to do about it?

Being generally disliked isn't an impeachable offense, and aside from really bad hair, I think any legal eagle would be hard pressed to find grounds for removal.

There is a difference between being just disliked and being unfit for office. The point of the OP is the majority polled feel Trump is unfit (meaning, not-qualified) to be president.

I didn't like Dick Cheney, but I didn't think he was unfit to be the V.P. I think Rick Perry is a likeable dude, but I feel he's sorely unfit to be the Secretary of Energy.

See the difference now?

Yes....the pollsters and talking heads as late as election day considered it a slam dunk for hillary.

It's lies.

Look, it's been more than a year that we've been subjected to your bull****. Trump lies 95% of the time and his followers, you find ways tom add to the lie to make it more plausable.

So don't bother OK?

Everything this administration says and does is a lie.

SO, you can stop now, lying to cover lies is very boring

Can you name even one so called lie? Should be easy if he lies 95% of the time.

Obama did one hell of a job turning the nation's economy around after dubya wrecked it

Except that dubya did not wreck it. The libruls in congress did. And Obama did not turn it around. If anything, in the long run, he made it much worse.

I, for one, am devastated. Beached. Sea-leveled. Some people don't like Trump. It's just so hard to believe. I'm thinking I should probably have a beer and watch some college football to consider things and console myself about something. Any excuse might do, but some are better than others.

You are playing fast and loose with the truth. Clinton's own budget projections had the deficit growing each year he had left in office. It was the GOP congress that pushed him into signing onto a balanced budget amendment. He had vetoed it twice and was about to veto it again until his handlers told him it would tank his re-election.

and then dubya immediately initiated a massive tax cut for the rich

False. The tax cuts were not immediate. he had to deal with the terrorist attacks of 9/11/01 first. And the tax cuts were extended to everyone who paid taxes at the time. The "massive tax cuts for the rich" chant is just tired old democrat party left wing talking points. The tax cuts led to an increase in tax revenue.

followed by a couple of unfunded wars

Unfunded wars? No more unfunded then anything else the congress spent money on.

no, you cannot hold that fool harmless for the events that brought our nation's economy to its knees

I assume you mean economically. The only thing that brought the nation to its knees economically was the housing market meltdown. That was owned by the democrats, not Bush. Bush saw it coming and tried to stop it:

Alabama versus Ole Miss coming up in just over an hour.

I'll be watching Virginia Tech play Clemson. Older son graduated from Tech. He doesn't give a damn about football, so I'm giving one for him. It's the least I can do.

Don't forget the small hands. LOL!

It was obvious before he became President that the likelihood of his being unfit for the job was near certain. What is astounding is the whining goung on about spilled milk.

I went back to some old polling as you got me thinking. Qualified is the the closest I can come to a poll asking about fitness. On 7 Nov 2016 only 37% of all Americans thought Trump was qualified to become president, 55% thought he wasn't. On the other hand, 55% said Hillary Clinton was qualified, 40% said she wasn't. Considering Clinton won the popular vote 48-46, being qualified or being fit to be president wasn't all that important. But I think this old poll backs up your statement.

Interesting that at least 9% of the electorate, the difference between Trump 46% of the vote received and the 37% who thought he was qualified. That 9% of the electorate decided to vote for him anyway over Clinton. That I think says one heck of a lot more about Hillary Clinton than Trump.

We've had several partisan threads on this subject. Not going through it yet again. You lost the first 100 times.

Offhand, Collins and McCain come right to mind.

good, out of 100 threads where you insist your argument prevailed you should be able to copy and paste one link here to prove your point
i look forward to seeing that link showing us how your argument prevailed
you, i, and everyone on this forum knows you will not do so because you cannot point to such an argument that you won
