and that was in a Republican capitalist Christian economy that grew at 3% for decades. Today liberals have shipped 30 million jobs to China with their taxes, unions and budget deficits; they have destroyed the families, schools, and religion of America rendering many unqualified and unfit for the rigors of work, and they have invited in 30 million illegals to take the remaining jobs and drive down wages still further..

Look at the change. In the 1950's Joe McCarthy could prosecute communists, today you have whole TV networks(MSNBC) that are communist and Bernie Sanders, an open communist, openly leads the Democratic Party. Is it any surprise that we are getting soviet growth levels from our increasingly collectivist economy and have record suicide and overdose deaths??

We could have zero taxes, no unions and billions in budget surpluses and we'd still be in the same situation. The economic drive behind today's outsourcing is entirely the results of two global events and one structural shift, which are larger and more power than any single policy decision the US gov't could make, or even hope to affect,

(1) The world wars in the first half of the 20th century left nearly all advanced economies in ruins with the exception of the United States. That was an immense blessing, because with our industries intact we could support the world with American made products. This, in turn, drove our wages and standard of living to heights never before seen in history.

(2) The simple passage of time has allowed other countries to "catch up" and slowly build their capacity to be competitive, yet remain at lower wages and standards of living.

(3) Advances in technology -- cheaper energy, faster and cheaper transportation, and advanced telecommunication like the internet and cell phones -- as well as international standardization, overcame all barriers to outsourcing and made it 100% possible to manufacture, design or service products at similar quality levels just about anywhere on the face of the planet.


... and whether conservative or liberal, reactionary or progressive politicians were or were not elected into office in the United States, we would be in the exact same situation as we are today because none of the events I listed above would have changed.

In America during the 1950s we had an extremely progressive tax system with incredibly strong union membership, and public projects and programs were being built and invested in a big way. We lost a lot of those decent paying, non-degree, jobs because of a combination of technology, trade deals, and a weakening of union power. Liberals and Conservatives alike have continued the trend that people like Reagan helped expedite. It has taken a huge toll on the working class, and it was a big mistake by the boomers for voting these people in. The "Christian" country was created in the 50s so at least you have that right.

of course that's 100% absurd. We see corporations moving offshore to China and tax havens all the time just to avoid the highest tax rates in the world they face here. Its in the papers every day!!

1) in 1950's govt spent less of GDP than it does today.
2) then we had advantage of only economy left standing in world
3) today we need to compete. liberal taxes unions budget deficits, the liberal war on our families schools and religions, plus 30 million illegals all do great harm to our country. Now do you understand?

I agree with the degradation the liberals have cause us, but what is your point within senator McCarthy?

He was an alcoholic, but otherwise a good man concerned about the American way of life.

The libtards love the tagline "McCarthyism," but he only went after the communists that secured jobs in the federal government. He was part of a senate committee, not the notorious HUAC.

Maybe the liberals hate McCarthy because he was right. Project Venona proved him to be correct once it was declassified in the 90's.

That has no impact on where the actual jobs and factories are located. Tax havens allow corporations to set up an empty, single-room office and then claim to be based in that office. That's why they're called "tax havens."

It's the same reason, James, why 65% of all American corporations are incorporated in the state of Delaware. Have 65% of all American-based companies shipped their jobs and facilities to the 3rd smallest state in the country? ... absolutely not. Corporations have set up "virtual" shop in the state because it's laws are corporate friendly, and they have zero real physical presence in the state.
