Trump and job creation

It proves you have selective reading skills. do blue states have the same opportunities so if you want to blame all that money coming back to the states in state choice items, then do so with Red and Blue states instead of just focusing on total which is not in context

Hmmmm I think you just proved that you have poor writing skills to go along with poor reading comprehension. just sayin....

Now if you want to translate your diatribe there to something coherent.... I will gladly read it.

LOL, keep dodging and weaving the lack of leadership on the part of Obama. The 81-82 recession was a double dip and led to a misery index of 20. it hurt more Americans than the 07-09 recession and the actions in both to generate economic activity were starkly different. Your total lack of understanding of human behavior and the private sector speaks volumes as is your low standards for a Democrat in the WH. The results speak for themselves and point to the Obama failures.

BWWAAHHHHHH... that was funny. I mean that was meant as a joke right?

Comparing the 81-82 recession due to the fed raising interest rates.. to the great recession with the collapse of the housing market and the banking industry..

You are very funny sir.

Tax Reform by RECONCILIATION will be another huge loser for the gang of 6 GOPs, including your Brady. The President has now shown he won't waste time on GOP civil wars, inaction and impotence ...

Brady supports the President's tax policy as to most Republicans, not the RINO's but most. We will get tax reform without any Democratic support because Big govt. is what they and you support.

You already know that reason; the GOP House of NO since being elected in 2010.

Too bad we missed our last best chance to balance the budget with plans such as Retired GOP Sen. Coburn's 'back-in-black' from July 2011, opposed by Norquist, just before the GOP credit downgrade.

I support Dr. Coburn's ongoing efforts to convene a Constitutional Convention for the BBA and other pressing matters. I also support the CC staying 'open in perpetuity' to keep the Congress and President focused ...

The House of no generated the results you want to credit Obama for and want to ignore, lower deficits, lower discouraged and part time for economic reasons. Balancing the budget takes power away from Congress and the Federal Govt. which is why we don't have one. Trump doesn't agree with the career politicians which is another reason to support him

How do you feel about 'one-term' term limits for governors, since that's what Virginia does ?

That is up to the states, I don't live in Va. but do live in a state with a part time legislature that meets every two years. I do support that

there was more than just rising interest rates, how old were you then? The entire attitude of Carter and the Democrats remain as they are today which is why they are out of touch with reality. Carter's policies were the problem that generated high inflation but keep believing what you are being told by the radical left.

I support Trump's neutering of morons like Lyin Ted Cruz, now caught up in a porn scandal ...

It really is a shame how important a Republican scandal is but not the same outrage with Democratic scandals, why the double standards? Are Republicans held to a higher standard than Democrats?

Despite Trump's lies and hyperbole, the OP's numbers cannot be disputed. Trump's job creation record is slightly below that of Obama's for the same period.

And August seems to be quite the slump, too. Hopefully it's an aberration.

But the big problem I see is the jobs added were net part-time. Full-time workers actually declined! That's hardly "winning" or making us "great".

My concern is the double standard applied by Democrats to Republicans and totally ignoring actual results all because of political ideology. Results matter and affect individual lives and so far Trump is generating the positive results whether you agree with them or not. He is the leader and took responsibility on January 21 thus those numbers today are his just like in 2009 those numbers were Obama but blamed on Bush.

details .... details ..... why should they get in the way of beliefs?????

how about you educate yourself.

Both the 1980 and 1981-82 recessions were triggered by tight monetary policy in an effort to fight mounting inflation. During the 1960s and 1970s, economists and policymakers believed that they could lower unemployment through higher inflation, a tradeoff known as the Phillips Curve. In the 1970s, the Fed pursued what economists would call “stop-go” monetary policy, which alternated between fighting high unemployment and high inflation. During the “go” periods, the Fed lowered interest rates to loosen the money supply and target lower unemployment. During the “stop” periods, when inflation mounted, the Fed would raise interest rates to reduce inflationary pressure

Need to change your lean there. government responsible for the economy is a liberal position..

I agree that results (effects?) matter but so does their cause. The results belong to the policies (mostly laws) in place and until those policies (mostly laws) are changed on Trump's watch why should Trump get either credit or blame?

The standards were set by Trump on day 1 repealing Obama anti business EO's and telling the business community you will not be punished for success. Business is responding and the stock market booming

That is primarily betting on the promised tax reform and started before that EO action.

Sorry but that isn't true, in every category, Trump's numbers are better than Obama's, part time for economic reasons, discouraged workers, total employment, labor force so not sure what you are looking at but the reality is numbers seem to confuse a lot of people who prefer headlines to actual numbers in context

Businesses know they will not be penalized for being successful

Ha! Big difference between being penalized and being rewarded less. Businesses don't make hiring decisions based upon taxes and regulation, they base it upon demand for their products. If they have enough customers businesses will always hire workers to fill the demand. If they don't have customers they will always lay people off.

You seem to forget that the most recent economic disaster took place with a full two years left in Bush's presidency while all of his tax cuts were still in place and had been for about 5 years. As the OP pointed out even if delusional Trumpeters want to try and give Trump credit for the first 6 months of this year, his numbers are worse that President Obama's from the same period last year.

Yes and thanks to Trump we have more people with full time employment thus more income, we have more positive private sector morale and motivation something you don't seem to grasp as you buy rhetoric instead of substance. that so called economic disaster affected the majority in this country how?

How were you and your family hurt and what exactly did Obama do to assist the country in getting out of that recession, TARP-NO, Job creation with a shovel ready stimulus-NO, creating more entitlements-Yes, bailing out Democratic operatives-YES

No, Trump's numbers aren't worse than Obama's at the same time as last year. Post those numbers to support your position? Here is reality

Seems you are having a problem coming up with the data to support your claim and refute mine. Why is it so hard for a leftist to admit when wrong? What is it about liberalism that creates this kind of loyalty and support? The official data refutes your claim and yet you cannot admit it, why?

How is it you could clearly propagate falsehoods, and expect us to believe it?

It's like some alternative reality has attempted to descend upon the thread.

Would you please reference your statement to the data in the O.P.?

My reference data was put in quotes and came from BLS.gov for employment, discouraged workers, and part time for economic reasons, all better than 2016, POST 196. GDP growth vs. last year is also better so waiting for the data that you have to refute the OFFICIAL data from BLS and BEA.gov??

The OP posted clear irrefutable data.

You've presented nothing but vague hyperbolic assertions.
