I've noticed on not only this political Forum but others that if your Centrist the far left and the far right just think you're on the other side.

I never really cared for political Orthodoxy and I honestly never thought about it. But a friend of mine told me I should take a political Spectrum test of course I thought I would be very hard right and very low toward the libertarian end but it turns out I'm pretty Central.

Funny thing is the people I've talked to assign me left-wing liberal lunatic or right-wing fascist nazi based on what subject I'm talking about. As odd as it may seem it's always people that are staunch in their political Orthodoxy that say this.

An interesting thing I started thinking about was the Spectrum with left and right and how it's more of a cylinder with the far-left and far-right being the reverse seam to the center line. And I happened upon a few videos where they talk about a horseshoe Theory. Where people start to see a lot of similarities between the hard left in the hard right. What didn't surprise me were the people that were saying that theory was garbage it was the heart left in the hard right.

I'll link the test so that you can take it and see where you fall I'd be interested to discuss this.

How about other centrists out there have you been called left or right depending on the subject you're arguing?

I havent done it in a while and this is where I am today it's pretty close to what I usually get. I'm usually a bit more on the authoritarian side

I'm willing to bet depending on the subjects you're talking about and the people you're talking with you've been called an extremist.

That's pretty much how it's goes now if you don't have the same view as someone the assume you are an extremist of the other side. What crazy is that one the same issue I have been called both a far right and far left extremist, because I am the biggest supporter of free speech and the 1st amendment.

I take these from time to time, and based on the questions the different web sites ask, I always end up with a different result. I'm usually just barely right of center, and a little below the center line. This time I was further down from the center line than I can remember being before.

Here's where I ended up:

There were a few questions I could change agree to disagree, or disagree to agree, and still be accurate enough to be true, which would surely change the results.

This is pretty close to where I always end up, but I guess I've shed even more authority since last time.

I was going to take the test but found the questions to be a bit loaded. Im a right leaning libertarian, generally speaking

I'm no centrist, but I don't affiliate with either major party, the left or right or whatever one calls them. I detested both Clinton and Trump last year and voted third party. I make up my own mind on the issues and don't let a party tell me what to think or what stance to take. Not only was I against both major party candidates, I am also anti-ACA and anti-AHCA. Try that one on for size.

Yeah I noticed some of the questions are asking things I don't really care about but you can't select I don't care.
