Will Trump Resign?

It's more efficient to keep the effort to manipulate and deceive on the part of the left and their MSM partners to the matter presented in the OP. No need to engage in your strawman diversion.

Would you care to explain why CNN left out important facts regarding Tony Schwartz, after all, that is the topic of discussion?

What did they leave out? They were pretty explicit that Schwartz doesn't approve of Trump. Was it that Trump threatened to sue him? Trump threatens everyone, even Bill Maher with lawsuits. That is hardly worth mentioning. But was there other stuff CNN omitted? Still, assuming the validity of your point, any news organization commits malpractice if it exaggerates anything about the Donald. No need. To use your phrase, it's more efficient to simply quote him.

Schwartz has a long history of attacking the President. That bias and opinion was not mentioned in CNN's dog whistle.

As I explained before, if I had no knowledge of Schwartz previous history, and I read the piece CNN presented, I would be struck that a friend of the President would say such things. After all, he helped write a book the President is famous for.

What CNN omitted was the fact Schwartz is no friend at all. There was no epiphany that suddenly compelled the guy to say what he said.

That is the manipulation that CNN has learned to perfect.

They aren't reporting facts, they are spreading biased BS and assuming the consumers of their product will just lap it up. Based on their ratings, their effort is paying off. Who needs honest reporting?

A person who knows Donald Trump as well as most - Tony Schwartz who wrote THE ART OF THE DEAL with him - predicts that Trump will soon resign from office.

'Art of the Deal' ghostwriter predicts Trump will resign - CNNPolitics

Schwartz pretty much was attached to the hip with Trump every hour of every day for a good chunk of time while he wrote the book with Trump. He is very open about his repudiation of Trump and regrets writing the book. He has been extremely vocal in opposing Trump, both before the election and after Trump took office.

Do you think he is correct?

The mid term elections are fast approaching and I think that will be the impetus for a Trump resignation as he will get tremendous pressure from Republicans to vacate the office and let Pence get established so they can present a new face to the nation and hold their majorities in both houses of Congress.

Once gone, the GOP will then run congressional campaigns as if Trump never happened and was merely a bad dream.

To make this work, Trump would have to be gone before the end of this year at the latest.

The big factor that may prevent Trump from resigning is that he knows he will go down in history as the single most monumental failure in the history of the nations long line of men who have sat in the Oval Office.

There is also the nagging reality that resigning from office does NOT spare Trump from the Mueller investigation as it is about Russia and their role in the election and that would continue will the potential to be tremendously critical of Trump in many different ways. Not only could it destroy his reputation as a politician, it could also prove extremely damaging to his reputation as a businessman..... something Trump is very protective of.

But Schwartz seems to feel that Trump will resign as everything simply collapses around him leaving him with nothing but his own will and that will not sustain him.

Frankly I think this is more of a left-wing wet-dream fantasy than a legitimate prediction, but I suppose it is possible.

If he does, Pence is Prez, which is ok with me.

Trump won't resign, unless someone has some truly damning evidence, and he resigns as a way to stay out of prison, at which, I'll be pissed.

Yeah, he is going to resign - give it six months.

Everybody except his hardcore MAGA fanboys see him for the embarrassing track-wreck he is. The constant drama and meltdowns are too much for his staff or this country to tolerate anymore.

I dont know anymore......with Trump he might just insist on being dragged out.

Still don't get it. CNN said Schwartz had been an outspoken critic of the president, that he stated he "put lipstick on a pig" in writing the book. The guy says Trump will probably resign. Doesn't seem like CNN was claiming he was a friend. Don't think any literate person would be "perfectly manipulated." CNN noted both their previous cooperation on the book and Schwartz's criticism of Trump. Their headline is the first clue.

I give it even odds at this point. But he thrives on controversy so it will take more than just everyone denouncing him.

No, you don't get it.

Headline: 'Art of the Deal' ghostwriter predicts Trump will resign

First 4 paragraphs:

Washington (CNN) — The ghostwriter of "The Art of the Deal" thinks President Donald Trump will eventually call it quits.

Tony Schwartz, the man behind Trump's 1987 memoir, took to Twitter on Wednesday to vocalize his forecast for Trump's political future.

"The circle is closing at blinding speed," Schwartz tweeted. "Trump is going to resign and declare victory before Mueller and congress leave him no choice."

In a follow-up tweet, he added: "Trump's presidency is effectively over. Would be amazed if he survives till end of the year. More likely resigns by fall, if not sooner."

CNN then positions the following, briefly adding that Schwartz has been an "outspoken critic", "over the past few years".

Then, they add in the key point they want to convey, the lipstick on a pig statement

"I put lipstick on a pig," he told The New Yorker last year, adding that he feels "a deep sense of remorse" for "presenting Trump in a way that brought him wider attention and made him more appealing than he is."

What you are failing to connect to is the fact Tony Schwartz is a nobody. Nobody knows who this guy is. They know the Art of the Deal, but they don't know who Tony Schwartz is. They don't know his history with the President.

CNN takes a nobody, and makes a headline out of this nobody's comments. They know people only read headlines, rarely scrolling past the first few paragraphs.

That is how the left's MSM partners are playing the Nation. That's how they are playing you.

As the song says, "Paranoia strikes deep." Might as well give up, as the left controls Europe, Aussies, Kiwis, Canada, Mexico, the MSM, Hollywood, everything... they even convinced all the countries in the world to do something about climate... and now Bannon is gone... build that wall.

Or perhaps it's reality that has a liberal bias. We US liberals are, after all, pretty much down the middle on any world political scale.

LOL

I'm not moved by a phrase a liberal comedian invented, like "reality has a liberal bias".

Reality has no bias, it is just reality.

Funny how liberals always need some crutch to fill in for the lack of reality in their views and objectives.

They one thing liberals control, and they do a tremendous job of it, is the messaging.

That is why it's important to point out the BS they create, like the BS dropped in the OP.

Trump is the last best chance for dems in the mid-terms. They would be besides themselves if he quit, let alone try to impeach him.

I'm amazed that a man who probably knew him intimately would predict that.

There are a number of reasons I doubt he will. First, as others have suggested, his ego. Every powerful man has stones. Secondly, I think he may find his presidency the most challenging task of his life. I doubt he would walk away from it. Third, because of all the investigations swirling around him, I think his attorneys would recommend him staying in office. There are privileges available to him as POTUS that would not apply in civilian life. Fourth, I think he would lose his protective detail... not sure about that. And I think he needs that more than ever.

I thought I invented "reality has a liberal bias." Was teasing a conservative friend with it years ago. My point is that liberals occupy a fairly centrist place in the politics of the world, reflecting a general consensus on the environment, labor issues, international cooperation, etc. They (and the media) appear left since the US is a pretty conservative country for a variety of reasons, including race, parts of the constitution, the size of our country, et al.

You bring up a good point. There is much to be said for Dems wanting Trump to stay on so he can be the super villain in the 2018 elections and propel them to victory.

You bring up many good points for his NOT resigning. I remember the same writer - Schwartz - months ago was on the tube saying that the main asset Trump has is that he never gives up and will keep coming back time and time and time again and eventually wear you down. And that seems to contradict what he just said.

But then the more complicated among us are a mass of contradictions and Trump may be no different.

Time will tell.

His resignation is just around the corner, just like the left's investigation results are just around the corner.
