Apology to the Left, a plea to the Right.....

You basically argued against Leftist policies with that first paragraph. Wanting less money in the hands of government and into private hands is pretty much the Republican mantra.

I'm conservative fiscally. I'm anti socialist economic policy, but I don't see it as a boogeyman.

I really don't see the normal right defending the alt-right very much. What I see is the left falsely accusing many on the right as being alt-right when they aren't. They call Trump alt-right and they call anyone who voted for Trump alt-right, including Democrats. Take Charlottesville, for instance. I defend the "alt-right" for their constitutional right to protest and I blast the antifa for being huge troublemakers and instigators. There were 30-50 white supremacist protesters and over a thousand counter protesters. The antifa commited far more egregious acts in Charlottesville than the alt-right did but the car attack is what garnered the news on the mainstream media and did not talk about all the trouble the left was causing as if their hands were totally clean and the alt-right even seem to be blamed for the officers who died in the helicopter crash. Same thing with Berkeley and some other places where the far left refused the constitutional rights of the alt-right to even speak. Do we live in a country with constitutional rights or don't we? Do we throw the constitution away for right wing hate groups but keep it in place for left wing hate groups? Do we allow the burning of flags but not allow confederate statues? Is this America or not? For the record, I am against white supremacists but they have the same rights as everyone else does. Hell, their leader in Charlottesville was savagely attacked and assaulted and many on the left seem to applaud this.

I largely agree with you, my only thing is we need to recognize what and who they are. Many people have no clue that the Alt-Right is an actual Nazi party. I don't mean this figuratively. I also fully understand and agree with your point on the false accusations being a problem, I doubt they even think about the fact that these false allegations actually help the Alt-Right.

Lol, It's funny I had no clue. I just always seem to run into you in threads that are largely about social issues. I honestly believed you were likely a socialist, I feel pretty stupid making that assumption now.

On social issues I'm progressive. On foreign policy I'm a hawk. The cornerstones of my personal philosophy supporting these positions as congruent are in my signature below. Also, my user title, 'global liberation'.

I don't think I ever heard of a Progressive Neocon, and I thought I was quite the mixed bag of labels :p

Quite so, though the term neo-con has been twisted and changed a lot over the past few decades. These days it's used as an insult to mean Bible-Thumping (I'm atheist), socially conservative (I'm not), fiscally conservative, chicken-hawk (I served). Neo-cons' progressive social platform seems to have faded into obscurity.

I find the positions (social, economic and foreign) are congruent as the most liberation for the most people.

I never really viewed Neocons as the bible thumpers. I always looked at them as moderate hawks. You seem to be more to the Left so Progressive Neocon seemed to fit at least from my understanding of the break down of labels.

Edit: Forgot about Lindsey Graham, he is likely what brings that reputation.

Progressive neo-con fits okay, though the original neo-cons were liberal on social issues so it's kinda redundant. Neo-con originally meant libertarian hawk; however, the term neo-con means something else these days (including religious and socially conservative, opposite of the original term).

Well there is a distinction between Liberal on social issues and Progressive on social issues unless you are comparing it to the modern liberals who do not seem to differ from Progressives.

Progressive is more extreme or active, perhaps more devoted? That's just an assumption, really. I label myself progressive on social issues because I'm active/passionate about it. More so than most democrats, certainly more so than moderate democrats. Perhaps we should get a pure progressive (not just social issues, someone who is actively engaged with the party) to tell us.

I always looked at Nazism as Far Right Socially and Far Left Economically, these modern Nazi's are essentially following that pattern. At least that is how Spencer stated to be his goal for the Alt-Right.

I see myself as a Classical Liberal/Libertarian so my views are largely socially Left and economically right which is directly opposed to them in both.

In Nazi Germany they would send the Jews away to ghettos and locals were allowed to salvage or collect their items. The government was as prospering from plundering the Jewish people and countries they invaded. People were writing letters that they were concerned for the Jews, but didn't have any guilt from gaining for their disappearance from their society. Eventually their economic prosperity allowed them to not care at all. That is very concerning.

The problem is that the term "alt right" has been used against a wide swath of people, whenever it's convenient.
I think it was CNN who called Ben Shapiro "alt right" last week, over the James Damore thing and if you're not familiar he's a practicing Jewish conservative.
"Alt right" has replaced Nazi, gamergater, etc, as the new catch all slur against right leaning people.

They're still a fringe and still largely internet.

I will defend anyone, who is having their civil rights threatened, who is being doxxed or threatened to be doxxed, who is being wrongly assaulted.
I can't vacate my core beliefs because supremacists suck, they still have rights, whether we like it or not.

I nor anyone else, who happen to/may happen to have some overlap of my ideological vin diagram, am obligated to condemn what is already self evidently wrong.
This is bad faith politics, people should assume, unless you state otherwise, that you think it is wrong.
People who do assume that you align with these wrong beliefs, will not be satisfied by your condemnation.
They'll simply move on to the next thing to rail at you about.

There is some Jewish guy in the alt-right. Tila Tequila also supports them, and she is Vietnamese. It's very weird, but, yeah, they have some people in their fold that are not white Christians.

Which is all the more reason people need to know exactly what the goals of these people are. While Milo has to know exactly what they stand for, I have to believe Tila is completely incognizant to their views of creating a white nationalist state by deporting everyone that is non-white.

Edit: Also, while some try to depict themselves as Christian their views go against the teachings of Christ.

IOW Bernie is a Communist Bolshevik. Just as bad.

No...Bernie is just a Democrat Socialist. Trump, the white supremacist Nazi sympathizer is much worse.

Ben Shapiro was the largest target of anti semitic messaging last year, I think the ADL did the tally for this.
He is definitely not involved in that group.

Not to mention how so often it is used as a broad slur against conservatives, rather than an accurate descriptor of ones political views.

Forget the "guilt by association" stuff, it is difficult to attach meaning. Instead, can anyone point to any action by our President that would earn the "white supremacist" title he has been assigned??

Serious as a heart attack.

If Bernie is a commie Bolshevik, is Trump a Nazi fascist? I mean, while we're indulging ourselves and tossing gasoline on the fire. Are the rightist thugs crawling out from under rocks now because they feel they have a powerful patron? While we're being all partisan and hyperbolic, I mean. Will the right unite behind those Nazis and white nationalists? They've already owned the Confederacy issue. Anybody who comes out on the side of keeping mementoes is now seen to be standing beside them. Next will be the immigation issue, you watch. They'll take that one and make it theirs, too.
Who knows, Bernie is a commie Bolshevik might become what you have to believe if you want to call yourself 'right'.
