Trump Hits New Low with White Non-College Voters

I'm sure that report that came out where Trump admitted the Mexicans will not be paying for the 'wall', and that he never planned on having them pay for it, that he just said that to rile up his base, in other words he lied, has hurt him with some in his 'base'.. . Hell with who's paying for it, now it looks like the wall might not even get built.

That's going to piss off some of his (ahem) 'supporters.'

This poll isn't indicating that they are critical of him on SOME grounds. It's talking about their overall approval of him. That means they find more things about him that they disapprove of than that they approve of.

But as an aside you sound to me like you're underestimating the ignorance and bigotry of Trump's supporters just like most of the Republican establishment did. Maybe you don't think the handful of yuppies you surround yourself support Trump due to his insane bigotry and sexism, but I assure you a great deal of his base does. They absolutely love him and view him as their savior.

His "base" alone was not responsible for his election. They are not the majority.

I'm not convinced that they will. Without that revelation, the base already knew that Trump, who promised to 'drain the swamp' put the same swamp rats from Goldman Sachs on his cabinet that he castigated as 'the establishment' during the campaign; he failed to get them health care that was 'better, cheaper and covered more than Obamacare' -- worse he supported a bill that took away overage. They don't seem to care as long as Trump annoys liberals -- even if it hurts them.

Lincoln was right, you can fool some of the people all of the time -- and Trump's base is proving it.

There is no majority, its a 3 way split. One could easily argue "independents"...aka "moderates" were responsible.

I'm sure much of Trump's support is because of his base's hatred of Liberals and they love it that he is pissing off liberals. But a good portion of his base only cares about 'draining' the brown people out of the country. They don't care about Goldman Sachs, the media, ACA, nothing but Trump building a wall and throwing people out of the country. He is throwing them out, but the wall business took a big hit when that report proved Trump lied about getting the Mexicans to pay for it, and maybe even lied about having it built.

That's going to piss off some of his 'base'.

It might piss off his base, but he is somewhat insulated by two strategies he uses to deflect blame from himself. First, it's not his fault. The evil forces of the swamp stopped it from happening. Second, anything you hear about him not really wanting the wall is fake news. Dodging responsibility is his strong suit.
