Remaining Trump supporters aren't doing themselves any favors!

So this source speaks for Alabama? Talk about wishful thinking and desperation!

On Alabama politics and media, let the buyer beware (Matt Murphy) | AL.com

It's just one jounalist in Alabama that speaks in volumnes. He's right. Defending Trump right now is the equivalent of saying O.J. Simpson didn't do it. I think you can remember how people looked at that jury after the verdict, and that is how the overwhelming majority of this country are looking at Trump supporters right now.

Did you go to school? "America" wasn't being abused by a "foreign power."

The American colonies that made up the fledgling United States were all possessions of England, and the vast majority of it's citizens were English subjects.

A full 1/4 to 1/3 the population remained loyal to the crown, another 1/3 to 1/2 were indifferent and would be happy to maintain the status quo (British rule). Only 1/4 to 1/3 were "rebels."

Sooo, it was a rebellion against their own government, not a foreign power. I shudder to think what they are teaching kids about American history these days. :coffeepap:

WTH are you talking about?

England was a foreign power, although the colonists didn't officially break away for some time. But if you went to school, you'd know full well that even before the Revolution there was increasing divisions between "colonial" society, especially in military terms, and English society as a whole. Frankly, even though independence wasn't declared until later, it was clear that colonial society had fractured away.

It quickly became a rebellion against a foreign power in name as well as practice once the Declaration of Independence was announced. Do they teach smug ignorance at whatever school you went to?

I'm talking about that nasty habit some Trump supporters have of supporting a movement which routinely tries to murder police?

Remaining Trump supporters aren't doing themselves any favors - Alabama Political Reporter

When Alabama is caving in on Trump--imagine what the rest of the country is doing.

The polls are useless, especially when the pollsters know there is no upcoming elections that their numbers will be compared to.

Since 2010 the Democrat party has lost so many elections that they are weaker now than they have been in almost 100 years.

If the polls had been accurate during that period, then the Democrat & GOP positions would be reversed.

I have been a hard core political news junkie for decades and I have a hard time remembering any polls that were bad news for Democrats.

Aside from a couple of FOX polls that said Romney could win I have NEVER seen one that error in favor of the GOP.

Let’s not forget most of the mainstream polls including Quinnipiac said Hillary would win by a landslide.

Rasmussen was one of the most accurate and it consistently has Trumps approval in the mid 40% to as high as 50%

Well to be fair, everything that article says also follows the golden rule "I'm rubber, you're glue! Whatever you say (negatively about opponents) bounces off me and sticks back on to you!" ;)

Haven't you people on the Progressive-Left learned yet that denigrating people who disagree with you is neither reasonable, nor rational.

In fact it only serves to entrench your opponents more firmly in their beliefs and creates a wider and wider divide that eventually nothing your side can do will ever bridge.

Hmmm...isn't that the sort of thing that eventually leads to a civil war?

Guess which group of citizens has most of the guns. :coffeepap:

They'll never learn that, fortunately.

Right now Senate and House Republicans are very worried about another 2010 scenario only it will be them that will lose a ton of seats. There has never been a President elect in this Nations history that has had to barricade himself inside the Trump tower, and his method of communication was reduced to a Tweeter account. Yes the polls are often wrong--but the pictures don't lie and neither do these Republican town hall video's.

Even in Salt Lake City Utah, where you can count the number of registered Democrats on one hand & considered the most conservative state in this nation--there are some very bad vibes.

In November, Rep. Jason Chaffetz (R-Utah) won reelection to one of the most Republican districts in the nation, with 73 percent of the vote.

On Thursday night, he found himself facing a very different picture. Thousands of people crowded in and outside of what was supposed to be a run-of-the-mill town hall in Utah to boo him and chant, “You work for us” and “Do your job!” Reporters heard those who couldn't get into the 1,080-person auditorium yelling: “Bring him out!”

I don't see this going well for Republicans in 2018. These protestors aren't going to forget to vote in 2018, and this Russian investigation isn't going away.

Republicans have awoken a "sleeping giant" by electing Donald Trump and it's pissed.

Actually no one is worried about that. The economy is taking off, its obvious Trump repealing all of Obamas executive orders along with his own policies is causing it and No one outside of political junkies care about Russia.

No he isn't, he's a partisan hack.

Pretty much copying and pasting that same message everywhere that will run it. If Trump supporters didn't care the first 100 times an article identical to that has been posted, what makes you think they would care about the 1,008,875th one? This tactic hasn't worked and pretty much helped him get elected, it may be time to try something new.

You have hit the nail firmly on the head with your excellent observation about Trump supporters not caring about analysis like this. . They are immune to reality and inhabit a willful delusionary existence ignoring facts and real world events. They are hopeless

The same can be said of those suffering from TDS. Those of us that are relatively objective regarding Trump are simply eating popcorn and watching both sides make fools of themselves.

I also feel nothing but pity for those suffering from Trump Derangement Syndrome having been seduced by Trump and not able to see reality of what a bad choice they have made.

I don't buy into that--the economy and Wall Street have been in a recovery period for the last 3 years. Yes Trump eliminated some regulation but any GOP President would have done the same. Economies are cyclical what goes up will come down, and it's the Federal Reserve banks--that the Federal Government has no control over--who will determine that.

You have elected a man with no honor, no respect, no dignity, no humility and the only loyalty he has ever shown to anyone was to himself and Vladimir Putin--and this administration is imploding as I am typing. Grand Jury's are being assembled everywhere--this will remain in the news, unless he resigns.

"This is yet a further sign that there is a long-term, large-scale series of prosecutions being contemplated and being pursued by the special counsel," Stephen I. Vladeck, a law professor at the University of Texas, told the paper. "If there was already a grand jury in Alexandria looking at Flynn, there would be no need to reinvent the wheel for the same guy. This suggests that the investigation is bigger and wider than Flynn, perhaps substantially so."

You had 16 other GOP candidates to choose from--a few of them much more qualified and competent to hold the position of POTUS, that wouldn't be enthralled in the most serious, impeachable scandals we have ever seen. You were warned a 1000 times over about Trump, and you ignored all those warnings. Now you own it.

If Republicans can do 8 investigations into Benghazi, it's not hard to imagine what Democrats will do with Treason, Obstruction & lies when they take over in 2018. You'll also get a great education into what the Emoluments clause in the Constitution is all about, which is also impeachable, 'if" Democrats don't want to go along with the current set-up.

when you learn to hold Trump to that SAME standard, let us know. Until then that soapbox your howling from is way to shaky to take you seriously.

He just posted a denigrating screed about the left while complaining about denigration.

I would like him to let us know when he stops posting arguments that he obviously does not believe in himself.

I think that denigrating does far more damage than just reinforcing the base, which probably amounts to somewhere around 25% of the voters. The remaining Trump voters don't like it either.

Here is a great article on the Trump supporter mindset. They have been brainwashed to believe that all news that doesn't come out of a right wing talk show host or FOX News is FAKE. They have been living in a right wing media bubble for the last 2 decades.
A neuroscientist explains what may be wrong with Trump supporters’ brains

No one could have watched any of those debates either in the primary or with Hillary Clinton and walked away believing that Trump won a single one of them--and or was knowledgeable or competent enough to be POTUS. If they tell you that, they're lying through their teeth. They were full of anger, so they voted for the most vile, angry, vulgar candidate out of the bunch. Even 80% of Evangelicals supported Trump.

It is not entirely true that Trump engineered a “hostile takeover” of the GOP, provided that the party is defined more broadly than elected officials and party insiders. As Conor Friedersdorf wrote last year in the Atlantic: “the elements of the party that sent pro-Trump cues or 'Trump is at least acceptable’ signals to primary voters— Rush Limbaugh, Sean Hannity, Michael Savage, Ann Coulter, Bill O'Reilly Sarah Palin, Rudi Guiliani, Newt Gingrich, Jeff Sessions, Rick Scott, Jan Brewer, Joe Arpaio Ben Carson, Chris Christie, Breitbart.com, The Drudge Report, The New York Post, are simply more powerful, relative to National Review, Mitt Romney, John McCain, and other ‘Trump is unacceptable’ forces, than previously thought.”
The GOP That Failed - POLITICO Magazine

They were able to select the news they wanted to hear--while ignoring all other news. They ignored every single warning--and jumped in with both feet. . Right wing talk show hosts have been very successful at dumbing down the Republican party, whom take information regurgitate it and then spoon feed it back to their audiences in 3 or more daily hours of right wing hyperbole, half truths, misconceptions, sometimes all out lies, and enough conspiracy theories to fill the capital building from floor to ceiling. This is the Trump supporter's "news, aka the news they "want" to hear." They're still defending Trump today. They sold Trump to their audiences and they're all in full panic spin mode today.

John McCain stated last week. Stop listening to bombastic talk show radio hosts and those on T.V. They want NOTHING good for this country. He's right, the only thing they're interested in is ratings and obscene profit breaks--not truth or FACTS.

Rush Limbaugh was cornered one day when a caller was able to sneak onto his program.

We can only hope that when Trump goes down, that he takes these right wing talk show hosts with him.

Prior to Trump the economy was in decline the 2016 GDP was about half of the 2015 and Trump is already set to beat Obamas best.

You are quoting a guy who lied to congress and one who is so desperate the is looking at things that have nothing to do with Russia. If Muiller hurts Trump with something like that nothing will motivate the Deplorables more, the Dems wont win another election for 50 years.

The GDP fell by half? Uh, no.

And now President Trump is more than doubling it from last year. Uh yes.

2.6 in 2015 and 1.9 in 2016, not quite a 50% drop but close enough and still it was declining untill President Trump repealed allof Obama's executive orders.
