Even Rasmussen has Trump under 40% approval

If nothing else, hopefully this will serve as a severe wake up call that throwing your vote behind someone "juss lyke mae" is a bad idea. Understand you? Definitely. Be willing to represent you? Of course.

But a leader, a president, *should* be different, *should* be "presidential". You don't want the worst of "every day Americans", you want the best, the side of you that shows up when there's a disaster or someone needing protection, that established your National Parks, that elevated your citizenry to standards never before seen, the side of you that thought it was important to put a man on the moon just to show off how great you guys are, the side of you that understands that not everyone can be painted with the same brush, regardless of how scared you might be (my utmost moment of admiration for Bush was when, after 9/11, he said "The enemy of America is not our many Muslim friends. It is not our many Arab friends. Our enemy is a radical network of terrorists").

You guys picked the guy that scratches his balls and flips you the bird, while checking out your wife's ass.

If nothing else, hopefully this approval rating maybe shows that you guys are starting to realize that in greater numbers, and in that sense, perhaps Donald J. Trump will actually make America great again, because what you guys forever fail to realize is that all you need to make America great again is YOURSELVES. Start working together again, stop being the pawns of megalomaniacs, con artists, and greedy news outlets (on both sides of the political spectrum), and FIX your country, because anyone can see it's ****ing broken, with your president being the primary indicator.

....and now the congregation may say "Amen!".... haha ;)

The bold....damn that was a good line.

I already explained that Rasumussen measures only what they term LIKELY VOTERS while everyone else that I am aware of does not use such a limited model but only measures broader American public opinion since this is NOT an election. The methodology is then suspect since it produces a number that is an outlier compared to the others who do not use that methodology since it is NOT an election and a limitation of your responses to LIKELY VOTERS has no real place in such a measurement of broader American public opinion.
I get your criticism of his methodology and Im not disputing it. Im asking why, if you think his methodology is failed why you think it only effects his approval ratings and not his disapproval ratings. Could it not just as likely be skewing his disapproval numbers too?

I would suggest, as have others who know more about the science of polling, that Rasmussen intentionally and purposely used this methodology precisely because it produces a number that is more favorable to Trump as it limits the audience from all the American people to only likely voters - which is a narrower group that he has determined produces that desired effect.

Well, the end must be near as today a poll came out from Rasmussen indicating that even among that rock solid Trump rock, the support they measure for the president has dipped under 40%.
538 has him around 38%, which is close to where he's been since June.

I think all the chaos and nonsense is chipping at the edges, but for now I don't see him going too much lower.

Something really big would have to happen -- like saying he was not going to build a border wall -- for Republican support to really crack.

Six months from now - should he still be around - I expect it to be in the low 30's just like the Michigan temperature.
