President Trump is now claiming victory over what he calls "GARBAGE JOURNALISM"[W:261

Re: President Trump is now claiming victory over what he calls "GARBAGE JOURNALISM"

No one wants to shut the Left up.
I fully support the right to free speech. Plus, everytime Liberals lose their marbles, they are their own worst enemy.

You are 100% wrong.Trump would like to shut the left up,but he'll be dead and buried before that happens.

Deal with it.

Re: President Trump is now claiming victory over what he calls "GARBAGE JOURNALISM"

But when Democrats do it, it's free speech and you're not only ok with it, you praise it.

^ Total blatant, shameless LIE.

Prove it or retract.

Portland's "Antifas" qualify, I believe.

How Liberal Portland Became the Most Politically Violent City
Casey Michel, Politico

On a cloudy day in early November 1979, a caravan of Nazi and Ku Klux Klan members careened into Greensboro, North Carolina, winding toward a local Communist Workers’ Party protest that had gathered in the city to march against the state’s white supremacists. The communists, wearing berets and hard hats, spotted the fleet and taunted the new arrivals with chants of “Death to the Klan!” The KKK convoy slowed, and stopped. Far-left protesters, bearing both wooden planks and concealed pistols, began surrounding the motorcade, beating the doors. As TV cameras rolled, the trunk of a Ford Fairlane, stuffed with shotguns and rifles, popped open. Someone yelled from one of the cars, “You asked for the Klan! Now you've got ’em!”
Eighty-eight seconds and 39 shots later, five communists lay dead. Eight other demonstrators were wounded, some permanently paralyzed. For a brief moment, the Greensboro Massacre became one of America’s most notorious acts of political blood-letting. And yet, unlike Wounded Knee or Selma, Greensboro has over the decades largely faded from memory. Except in Portland. Among the fringe political groups currently waging battle in the City of Roses, Greensboro is well-remembered, even idealized. It is increasingly seen as the inevitable end of the escalating violence that has rocked this city since Donald Trump’s election in November. Left wing “antifas,” wearing red bandana masks alongside other far-left protesters, have rioted multiple times and caused millions of dollars of damage, with threats from left wing groups even forcing
the cancellation of a parade because it featured a float from the local Republican Party. Eager to push back against the opposition, white nationalists have begun mixing with anti-government militia members for “free speech” rallies. A man who attended one of these rallies would later stab to death two men on a train when they intervened to stop his anti-Muslim rants against two young women. The norms of protest and counterprotest—mostly verbal shouting and sign-waving—are quickly crumbling in Portland. The left wing antifa have even threatened preemptive violence in the name of the defending the city from groups they say promote violence. In Portland, Greensboro isn’t a past mistake to be avoided, but a future clash to be courted. Both sides mention Greensboro in conversation. Both sides know the details and the death toll. And both acknowledge Greensboro as an event that may well serve as a model for what’s just around the corner. “My big concern is sooner or later is that we’re going to have another Greensboro Massacre type of event,” Mark Pitcavage, who researches domestic political extremism with the Anti-Defamation League, added. “This is so unlikely to end well.” . . . .

Only if you lump liberals in with political extremists, which apparently you do. Interesting that the article sites as one if its' sources the liberal Anti Defamation League.

Trump is so full of BS it's coming out of his nose.

Anyone on the right who thinks that they'll ever shut the left up will be mighty unhappy when massive demographic change hits full force like a tidal wave in about 50 years and reduces the GOP to a minor, regional, party.

You can't shut the people up who outnumber you.

Anyone who threatens violence will be a political extremist, left or right. Threatening violence was the standard you set.

Trump's anti-1st Amendment activity will cause his low poll numbers to sink even lower. His chances of being re-elected fall somewhere between slim and none.

Deal with it.

Hillary did win the popular vote.Wake up and smell the coffee.

There'll be another election in 2020 and Trump's poll numbers are in the basement and sinking.

Re: President Trump is now claiming victory over what he calls "GARBAGE JOURNALISM"

Has President Trump really won the battle, or has he started a War?

President Donald Trump Claims Victory over ?Garbage Journalism? at CNN

Obviously, Trump has won the his current battle with CNN, but their are many other Fake Anti-American, Anti-Conservative, and Anti-Christian News Networks out there that he has yet to contend with, such as MSNBC, ABC, CBS, NBC, the NYT, the LAT, the WP and the HP!

Good Luck Mr. President, and God be with you,
fatuous1

The garbage liberal media is destroying itself, it doesn't need any help from President Trump.

This week CNN, NYT, and AP retracted their Russia stories, and in so doing they called Hillary Clinton a liar, they called Susan Rice a liar, and they called former national security advisor Richard Clarke a liar.

Meanwhile NBC is doubling down on the stupidity, Chuck Todd is trying to spin such a ridiculous version of "Russian collusion" that not even his own guests believe it.

Meanwhile the collective media ratings continue to sink into the toilet, and advertisers continue to leave in droves.

Re: President Trump is now claiming victory over what he calls "GARBAGE JOURNALISM"

So where are these "reasonable assessors of news" getting their info?
FOX News?....Breitbart??....Weekly World News???
The Prez himself seems to like The National Inquirer and InfoWars.....he's very discerning.

"Reasonable assessors" of the news try to access several outlets whenever an important story breaks.

I'm not sure what you're getting at here.
Are you saying any incorrect news stories will cause media consumers to never read any news again?

Millions????
Everyday???
At this alleged rate, you will have no media at all within a few months.
Your problem will be solved.
Then, you can listen to the TrumpNewsNetwork 24/7.

Is that what he's doing?
I thought he was just whining and tweeting idiotic crap.
Glad to know he's got a real purpose instead of just being a buffoon.

Millions a day, or so I've been told.

Again with the Twain quotes, eh?
Mark Twain is also credited with this quote..."Never pick a fight with people who buy ink by the barrel".
Which won't be a problem for The Donald much longer since the media----according to you---is practically defunct.

So the thrust of your post is that the media is 100% truthful, 100% unbiased and 100% believed by the public.

You must also believe that Space Aliens routinely visit our planet to have dinner with Big Foot. Sorry. A lame attempt at humor.

Also, sorry about the exaggeration of millions a day. It's been only about 20% of the population over the last 20 years. Your projection is correct, though. At this rate of lose, they don't have much time.

When I was in school, I was taught that the stock in trade of journalists was provable accuracy and multiple sourcing.

The media relies on neither as they attack Trump. They are simply making crap up and anyone who is reading/watching the attacks with a critical eye sees this. Many are using a critical eye if the drop in their trust among the public is the gauge.

As it happens, older people are more likely to trust the media than are younger people. This by about 10% . Old habits die hard.

I happen to watch and listen to a bunch of sources. I happen to hate commercials. During the election the coverage of the election differed between CNN and FOX in only one way:

CNN repeated endlessly that Hillary must be elected. FOX repeated endlessly that Trump must be elected. I happen to appreciate the devices used to communicate and so appreciated this contrasting coverage.

Of some interest to me in this narrative as news presentation, are the quick change artists, like Allison Camerota, who changed from FOX to CNN and went from right wing demagogue to left wind demagogue in her first sentence on CNN.

You'd almost expect her to have pulled a muscle doing this. Maybe the safety equipment helped. She now wears professorial glasses and the short skirts are not featured. Still has good hair and make up.

Mark Twain said many pretty smart, and pretty funny things. It was a different world in Twain's day. In his day, printing ink was required to reach the mass public.

The New York Times has a circulation of about 2 or 3 million.

Between all followers on Trump's Twitter and Facebook and so forth accounts, he has more than 85 million followers.

It's little wonder why they are having trouble taking him down. Fewer and fewer believe what they are selling. Even fewer than are actually buying what they're selling.

How many social followers does Trump actually have? - Jun. 17, 2017

Re: President Trump is now claiming victory over what he calls "GARBAGE JOURNALISM"

and you are in denial. You can't wake up in the morning and read about that day's idiotic, insulting or merely factually challenged tweet and think this is normal.

You can't think that it is normal for #45 to know no detail at all for about his party's health plan and act like he's merely a bystander and not the person who is supposed to be providing leadership. Stating that it will be terrific, it would be cheaper, cover more, and everyone would get a pony -- while also not knowing what is really in it.

Well, it worked for Obama.

Did you condemn him for exactly the same salesmanship during the run up to the passage of Obamacare?
