I Hate Hillary/Bernie Supporters

Do I hate all Trump supporters... no

Do I, in general, hate Trump supporters... no

Do I think all Trump supporters are racist... no

I am troubled by Trump supporters and their way of thinking, and how they supported a person using his rhetoric and seems to have no issues or concern. I sometimes look at my Trump supporting neighbors and question how much their version of America includes me and my family, our faith and religion, and that is the truth.

Do I hate my neighbors who supported Trump... no... but it does make me feel uncomfortable and question their attitude towards me, how they view my family, if they are cool with being my neighbor, etc.

That's the truth.

Would your neighbors be comfortable with you if they knew you professed hate for them?

I don't profess to hate my neighbors. I only question how they view me being here, and being part of the neighborhood. That isn't a cause to actually hate anybody. Again, I never seriously proclaimed to hate anybody. My thread title was meant to be taken as seriously as your thread title.

Whether you were serious or not is something for people to decide for themselves but to claim that you did not profess hate would be bull****, because you proudly did and with the intent, as you admitted, to dig at people you disagree with. You want all this understanding or whatever, what do you bring to the table other than professing hate and ****?

I am not asking for understanding. I started the thread title knowing it would cause certain posters to blow up, and, right now, that poster is you, and I can assure you that I don't hate you. I actually have a lot of respect for you in many ways. I don't think of you as a trolly, nasty, or stupid person. I think you sometimes get really emotional though... not sure if something has changed here, but for me, I am not going to lose all my respect for you over this

It sounds like the attitudes you are worrying about in your neighbors are already existing in YOU. For no other reason than the fact that they disagree with your political views, suddenly you think that they have changed. I'd say that you YOU'RE the one who has changed and I'd be more worried about your attitude than theirs.

My attitude has changed. Before I didn't think my neighbors or community had an issue with me or any of my peers. I felt fully accepted. I felt like they saw me as an individual, not a member of a faith group they distrust. Hearing Trumps rhetoric, seeing them appear totally comfortable with it, and then seeing him elected was like a reality smack to my face. Somebody I know even told me that should be comfortable with being on a registry, and that the government would lose interest in me. Therefore, the registry should amount to nothing to me.

Yes, I realize some of my neighbors have reservations about me. A lot of Trump supporters are suspicious, distrustful, and view Islam negatively and it's followers as possible threats. Some Trump supporters don't even support further immigration from Muslim majority countries, and think the faith cannot be accepted into greater American society without damaging America's values. I talk to such people a lot, and, as a result, I sometimes have trouble trusting Trump supporters or how they view me as a neighbor and member of their community. Before Trump, I didn't feel this way about Republicans. I know all Republicans are not Trump suppprters, and I know all Trump supporters are not the same either.

In general, there is definitely a lot of mistrust between Trump supporters and muslims, and it goes both ways.
