I think it was mostly sucking up, but they also knew they were on camera so a lot of it probably has to do with presenting a united front to everyone.

I was beggining to expect one of them to blow him right then and there. Coerced? Who knows with the Cheeto? Anything is possible with this guy.

What did you think they were going to say? I would expect all cabinet members under any President to say they are grateful and honored to serve the country and thank the President for choosing them. I don't really see the big deal.

A huge improvement over Obama's cabinet where he was clearly hated and was badmouthed constantly behind his back. Bill Clinton even said that Obama would be serving him coffee 10 years earlier.

I don't recall any of Obama's cabinet members saying they hated him or badmouthed him. Bill Clinton wasn't part of his cabinet.

I would have thought that if I was called upon I might mention a few of the projects I was involved in. General terns, nothing classified of course.

The layering of praise felt over the top to me.

Yes, when he chose me and perhaps refer to being honored during my confirmation hearing. But at a show-and-tell where the President goes around the table with a silent question, "Am I great or what" and an invisible bullwhip in his hand, no way would I have groveled about the "blessing" of serving this wonderful President and his bestest-ever agenda. (I only listened to about half of them, because I wanted to keep my breakfast in my stomach.)
