Obama had people looking for his birth certificate to prove he wasn't American, namely people like Donald Trump. Though maybe Obama and Trump are about even.

Then again, Reagan was kind of... shot.
Lincoln and JFK were shot and killed. So maybe that counts as being treated a little bit worse than Donald Trump

The OP thread title uses the exact words that trump used to embarrass the USA at the Coast Guard commencement.

Has the USA been messed up, messed over and treated any worse by any president in all 4 years total than trump has done in just 119 days ?

Not sure who's been treated worse but I know who's the whiniest crybaby, the most delicate snowflake who ever commanded a nation's armed forces.

Yea, by whoever it was that made weed illegal
I don't know who the **** signed that, but THEY should have been assassinated

Yea, trump is not the worst of all time. He's better than bush, hasn't sent as many troops to die for nothing

After 119 days of trump, with another day full of unhinged tweets and blatant irrational lies, it's amazing to me that any of his supporters trust him anywhere near the nuclear codes.

Zero self-discipline and making up superlative-filled lies on the run are already his undoing .

Why are the conservatives not bashing Trump for politicizing a speech made to a branch of the military?

Isn't that their thing?

In my case it is because I think Trump deserves some defense for what he does but, naturally, not for what he says. I hate what he says and how he says it just like you do but I'm glad he is in power. The country will survive him and be better off for it. I think partisanship stands in the way of your seeing that.

Considering how he treated anyone who was not on his side, he brought this on himself. Now, he needs to man-up and take the lumps he had coming. His whine is a joke, a bully crying that people are fighting back.

Lets see ... Lincoln was so hated that a whole bunch of states turned traitor and tried to leave because of him and after getting their ass kicked in a savage and bloody war that killed hundreds of thousands of their fellow Americans, one of them killed Lincoln to put the exclamation mark at the end of the sentence.

I would respectfully suggest thats a whole lot worse than Trumplethinskin and his sensitive hurt feelings.

Has any president been treated worse than Trump? Treated worse....by whom? The press? His political opposition? His own party? Yes, absolutely.

While Trump can't seem to stop making inappropriate, even outlandish, remarks like the one alluded to in this thread title, he easily has the most virulent opposition of any president at least since Nixon, perhaps more than that. The Left is obsessed with destroying Trump to a degree far surpassing any opposition Obama, Bush or other recent presidents received from their opponents.

That doesn't excuse Trump for his own errors in judgment and the (countless) stupid things that come out of his mouth, but Trump is certainly besieged in a way that people under 40 haven't seen before.

Really? Trump "has the most virulent opposition of any president at least since Nixon?" Really? Republicans, especially Trump, mounted a campaign that tried to deny Obama his very legitimacy to hold the office. After the 2008 election, Republican leaders met in a restaurant on Inauguration Day to decide how to undermine the new president so that he only has one term.

Republicans complained that Obama took too many vacations but are silent about Trump taking a vacation ten times more often. Republicans complained about Michelle not wearing a head-scarf in Muslim nations (so insulting) but say nothing when Trump's wife and daughter do the same thing. Republicans voted to impeach Bill Clinton over a blow job and spent $75 million on a real estate investigation, while they are reluctant to investigate Trump's profiteering in office; possible treason and possible obstruction of justice. Trump is being treated unfairly? No, he gets a pass most of the time for what others got sharp opposition.

What Trump is facing is two types of opposition: 1) legitimate opposition to his odd and deranged behavior that has no business in the White House, and; 2) normal political opposition to policies that seem to be decided by answering the question, "what would a dick do?" 'Let's see, we have a pesticide that harms the brains of children, that is now banned by the FDA. Should we overturn that ban?' "What would a dick do?" Overturn the ban it is.

We now have a regulation that bans dumping coal ash, that contains harmful mercury, in streams. "What would a dick do?" Dump it!

What we have is a billionaire who whines that life is treating him so unfairly when he doesn't get his way or people talk mean about him. Donald, take Harry Truman's advice: "if you can't stand the heat, get out of the kitchen."

No question that Trump is mistreated moreso than any other president in my lifetime. The difference is that his behavior is the basic cause of mistreatment.

NO.
Stop mentioning Obama - he was loved and well-received. That birther nonsense was inconsequential nonsense.

If this nation survives him it will take another liberal president and congress to correct the errors of his dictatorship.

In modern times, I'd have to say no. But we don't really know how many "hate Trump" persons there are. Hostile reporting is bad enough, but lying, or lying by omission, or adversely presenting facts is, IMO, new territory.

Regarding physical threats, security is much more sophisticated now then back then.

Why not ask the reverse? Has any American President treated citizens worse?:2wave:

The nation will not only survive but it will thrive. Understand that Trump is busy correcting Obama's errors.

That was "in the works", so to speak, for a long time prior to Lincoln.

"Has ANY US president been treated worse than Trump?"

No but no other president brought so much of it on himself.

Go on........

Nixon, FDR, ALL presidents who supported the war on drugs, ALL presidents who supported the prohibition era, Reagan, Bush...

What is the worse thing Trump has ever done anyway? I'd personally say it'd be appointing Sessions and not supporting legalization of weed. To me, that's the number one worst thing Trump has done.
But I would have to put EVERY single president who has not come out in favor of ending the war on drugs on the same list. So really, Trump isn't special in that regard.
Who and where are these clean-handed presidents?

What is the worse Trump has even done? My problem is that he's an idiot, not some totalitarian monster. There's not one original policy of Trump that is that hurtful, every policy that I think is bad, that he supports, comes from an unwillingness to change things about America
