But Trump in a TV interview on Thursday said he made the decision to fire Comey prior to consulting the Justice Department, because the FBI chief was a “showboat” and was mishandling the department.

He acknowledged that the Russia investigation was one of the things he considered. “In fact, when I decided to just do it, I said to myself, I said, ‘You know, this Russia thing with Trump and Russia is a made-up story. It’s an excuse by the Democrats for having lost an election that they should have won.”

We now live an era where a president can admit on national TV they fired someone because they are being investigated by them and we have Trump and his supporters to thank for it. They just have to decide for themselves that the investigation is not legitimate and then they are above the rules.

I truly dislike Hillary Clinton and her cronies, but now I think it is perfectly apparent to every American that Trump and his supporters are cut from the same cloth of corruption and hypocrisy.

Though, it would not surprise me, if Trump, family and friends were hypocritically corrupt, this argument doesn't show it.

If Dems take the House or Senate in 2018, Trump will be a lame duck president besieged by 2 years of Congressional probes and investigations.

You are correct. However, given the numbers of few GOP Senators up next year, I suspect the prospect of the Dems taking control of the Senate is not good at all.

If 2018 is a wave election and Dem anger continues to hold or even build, they could take the House. Then your prediction will be a reality.

So how does fulfilling the stated wishes of Hillary, Schumer, Pelosi, Waters, Sanders, and many other libs, become admitting obstruction of justice?

Was Comey singularly conducting the investigation, all by himself? Has the investigation at the FBI stopped? Is the Senate and House investigating?

Will liberal/socialist progressives become deaf with the constant blaring of whistles?

The federal law against obstruction of justice, a felony, is written broadly and applies to pending investigations. It can cover anyone who “corruptly … endeavors to influence, obstruct or impede the due and proper administration of the law under which any pending proceeding is being had before any department or agency of the United States.” In another section, the word “corruptly” is defined as “acting with an improper purpose.”

Keep in mind, you forfeit any claim to conduct by leaders of the other side once you begin to excuse it from your own. How far are you willing to let Trump take down the bar, because when the shoe is on the other foot there will be a future corrupt lefty who takes advantage of the levity and lack of accountability you are creating. You forfeit any claim to credibility by ignoring what I posted to add more partisan blather.

You engage in potentially fatal blows to credibility by floating this absurd meme about obstructing justice.

You warn of future consequences while seemingly ignoring the outrageous activity of the frauds in the media, and among members of the Democrat party in Congress.

Such a precedent they have established, and you appear blind to it.

To the contrary, I agree with you on the Democrats and media, but they are not in power and rather than rise to accountability you are lowering the bar further. You are truly no better than they are, and possibly worse given that you would never miss the chance to hold them accountable for the same obstruction that Trump is perpetuating.

The problem with arguing with a centrist is none of that partisanship bullcrap phases me.

No doubt. If Obama, or worse yet, Hillary was in Trump's position, Ol' Ocean would be screaming even louder than the Benghazi and Server crowd.

I truly don't think the Trumpkins are blind to Trump's dumbass-ness. It's just that some folks put personal politics over the best needs of the nation. Kinda like the Bear's fans. Their team could be the worst in the league but "Da Bears" always rule. There ain't no law against that. LOL!

The problem is when their team starts breaking the rules of the game and they turn a blind eye and then are later surprised when they see the rival team doing the same. Then it stops working for everyone because then nobody has faith in it because there is no longer accountability.

And yet obstruction of justice, being an actual crime, not one progressive or libertarian has brought charges against the president. I've noticed this is the second time libertarians here pointed out obstruction with out actually reading his quote. At least the progressives can read the quote and come to the same conclusion as the remainder of society. His quote does not imply obstruction it merely implies inept management which he changed.

Please cut and paste the quote from Comey that says clearly that he is investigating Donald J. Trump.

President Trump is NOT obstructing justice. Investigations continued even after Comey was fired. I have not seen the exact words used by President Trump to Director Comey urging him to discontinue investigating. It is just as likely as not that he wanted Comey to admit that there was nothing to find. Negatives are very difficult to prove.

Even if he's not impeached, if this corruption causes a Dem takeover of the House and/or the Senate as a check on presidential misguided behavior, it's worth it.

IF the Comey memo reports are accurate, it is an attempt to interfere with an FBI investigation with people who are directly connected to Trump, and that is classic 'obstruction of Justice'.
