Trump turns to once-mocked executive orders to tout wins

its not king unless he uses EO for something congress has not authorized him to do.

I want as much as possible that is controversial debated by the people's representatives, with the conclusions formed into law.

any EO, which is exclusively used within the executive branch no other branch can question.

any legislation created by congress, which authorizes the president to use EO at his discretion is within the law

Oh for ****'s sake. Your denial is pathetic.
Why is Guantanamo Bay still open? If Trump is a liar then why did he pull out of the TPP? Between Trump and Obama one of these presidents has done exactly what they said they'd do. How sad.

So you clearly didn't read the OP. Got it.

98 days in?

Front runner, going for the gold.
Seriously, how do you see him turning it around? What's gonna be his success in this term?

Those EO decisions can and will be overturned again by the now Conservative Supreme court.

Will that make a success? If it happens...
Do you think Trump is a conservative?

well when g. bush was elected, the stock market went down and down and down, and it had everyone on the left saying the stock market would never rise again and that it was bushes fault he was a failure

however the market returned and the bush presidency was not a failure, it was not great, but not a failure, and many on the left are hoping trump to be that failure

trump has 45 moths to go, and maybe 93 there is so much time and so many things which can be done, but it is more of in the republicans hands and not trumps if this president is a failure or success.

so if you are going cheer for his presidency to be a failure, you better aim your attention at congress because there is the key

I think Trump is better for America than Clinton.

That's without a doubt, and, as we have seen, a great many of the electorate believed that as well and voted that way, and now, appears even more would have voted for him.

New Poll Suggests Trump Would Now Win Popular Vote | Zero Hedge

Sounds like Trump would now win the popular vote as well.

There also seems to be a majority that would want the Democrats to work with Trump.

Poll: Americans want Democrats to work with Trump | TheHill

Where is this 73 percent of Americans who want Democrats to work ...

I think the house GOP leadership should start it.

Doesn't sounds like the DC establishment is listening to the electorate very well, be they Democrats or be they Republicans.I

too hope that the tax plan makes it through, a robust economy would do the nation well.

That's just saying you'd rather have syphilis than leprosy. Trump being better than Clinton doesn't make him better than, I don't know, who's just a little bit better than Clinton? Is Trump a better choice than you?
He's a malodorous choice for president and he doesn't smell any better for not being Clinton.

With Trudeau as your leader you shouldn't be throwing stones.

I'm no fan of Trudeau but I wouldn't trade him for Trump, Clinton, Sanders, or any of the Republican posse you guys had to chose from.
What a bunch of clowns.

When Canada becomes a super power let me know. Deal?

Not to mention that multiple of those EOs have been struck down by the courts, others ordered something that failed utterly (AHCA), and others do nothing but express his priorities

The stock market didn't start coming back until almost 6 months into Obama's presidency. Obama had to clean up the housing/banking crisis, the American auto industry bankruptcy, and start weaning us out of 2 wars; before the market started regaining confidence. GW Bush was a monumental failure.

Already throwing the blame elsewhere? He has a Republican congress and a Republican senate, and he can't work with them? Give me a break:thumbdown

well you missed a lot, the point was to call someone a failure who is only 3 months into a presidency is ridiculous, because of how much time is let in that presidency

again you miss a lot, if the congress passes things trump wants to get accomplished that will be feather in his cap, so things hinge on congress, because its going to take legislative action to get trumps agenda through

If cows had balls they would be bulls.

before trump entered office , it was stated he would use EO where he could and remove former EO

Nope. Those executive orders that haven't been slapped down by the courts were mostly all for show.

But 99 days into his presidency, Trump’s high-profile orders have not actually undone Obama’s health reforms, financial regulations, or carbon restrictions. They’ve merely allowed him to announce his intentions to undo those policies in official documents. Trump’s first 30 executive orders will create a lot of federal reviews and reports, along with some new task forces and commissions, but not a lot of substantive change. So far, they’ve been more about messaging than governing, proclaiming his priorities without really advancing his priorities.

The White House is making Trump’s flurry of executive orders the centerpiece of his 100-day legacy, in part because he hasn’t yet signed any major new laws or made much specific progress on his Make America Great Again policy agenda. And his orders have echoed his rhetoric about trade, regulations, crime, and other policy issues, which has given them the appearance of promises kept. But a close look at the language of his orders shows that most of them are basically press releases with presidential signatures, plus instructions to his Cabinet secretaries to look into the issues at hand.

Trump’s Executive Orders Are Mostly Theater - POLITICO Magazine

The real danger remaining to the American public is less than what Trump can do on the domestic scene and much more what he has free reign to do militarily and to America's reputation abroad. And of course what the legislative branch will do to health care and long term fiscal policy.

With every day that passes, domestically speaking, Trump truly is turning out to be a paper tiger.
