Did Trump Betray the Alt Right?

You are exactly right, but it does matter. In Trumpland, there is nobody but Trump. He will pump you and dump you. He demands loyalty to the extent you will jump over a cliff for Him. There’s a sucker born every minute and he’s lining them up to feed them lunch to slaughter. If people can’t see that, then y’all are sheep of a deranged shepherd. If you can see that but think he can do the right thing for America, your just an Australian Shepherd running the sheep over a cliff.

He has actually been kind of doing that with Putin

I have been watching the message boards and feeling increasingly bemused. The guy who felt so secure in his support that he said he could shoot someone and still win the election is appearing to lose supporters in droves. Apparently caring about children dying in another nation is an unforgivable transgression
to the "America First" crowd. By contrast, Trump is now getting tons of admiration from the Swamp in all its media-industrial complex glory. Trump may be shaping up to be a better Hillary Clinton than the genuine article.

the down grading of Bannon may suggest the marginalizing of the isolationists.

The "kind of" part I get. Good forethought.

Just saying that many on the left accuse Trump of being Putin's puppet or mole when it might actually be the other way around.

Amazes me how the left thinks we should welcome Syrian refugees with open arms (including possible terrorists) out of compassion for what they are going through but that we should just sit there and do nothing for what they are going through.

The idea that the left wants to welcome terrorists with open arms is obviously a lie

That's a joke, right? Trump is a moron and Putin elected him because he knew that he could manipulate him and his administration so easily. I wrote on this board pretty much exactly what Mark Cuban said about the issue (I hate Mark Cuban too so I'm not bragging, I just can't write it all out). All Trump cares about is himself. He has no puppets other than his yes men and idiots who voted for him and don't care that he is doing the opposite of what he said he'd do - literally, saying and doing the exact opposite from golfing to NATO to China to Syria to Obamacare to Hillary to draining the swamp. Well, you're either a carny or a mark.

Trump is a con artist. What you see and like about him today will transform tomorrow....right after he picks your wallet clean.

The man played the alt-right like a fiddle. All it took was throwing on a red trucker hat and parroting a few slogans. Anyone who actually believed he was for the working man is stupid.

Now, let's see, Trump outsmarted 16 other Republicans in the primaries and used them for his puppet and then outsmarted Hillary and used her for his puppet, and yet you don't think he is pulling Putin's puppet strings? Everyone underestimates Trump and that is why he is where he is now.

This is what I said, "Amazes me how the left thinks we should welcome Syrian refugees with open arms"

this is actually what you said.

"Amazes me how the left thinks we should welcome Syrian refugees with open arms (including possible terrorists) out of compassion for what they are going through but that we should just sit there and do nothing for what they are going through."

Yep. You twisted it. I merely said that some refugees could be possible terrorists.

Did Trump betray the alt-right?

Meh....

Who cares?

If he did, they would be too stupid to realize it.

Besides, all it would take, to get them back in line, would be just a couple of fake news stories or some meme from freedomforjeeeezus.com to reshape their collective mind's to consider the betrayal as a blessing. Maybe have Hannity throw out some red meat to distract them from the alleged betrayal.

I have grown tired of trying to dialog or reason with the alt-people living in alt-world. I simply have neither the time, desire, or inclination to try to relate with these Trumpkin's anymore. As far as I am concerned they have ventured way beyond the point of no return. I don't speak alt-speak and I don't care to learn how.

I'm reading into them what you said and now the liberals do not want to let terrorists into the country

I don't know why you want to be so difficult. But, as you said that I said, liberals do not want to let terrorists into the country.

I get it because it is a marker of Trump's behavior. That's how he treats everybody, like a puppet, including those on "his side" or on "America's side", while he changes his position at will while saying others change, like the UN, according to his will.

That's true and I'm not sure that that is actually a bad thing all the time. Sometimes it can be good.

I don't know about Alt-Right, I haven't figured that out yet. But Trump was never a conservative. His lifelong held political views was more a tuned to the Democratic Party and those of Liberal persuasion. Trump always reminded me of a snake oil salesman, one of those old wild west medicine men who sold his magic elixir that would cure anything and everything while making America great again.

Trump was nothing more than an egotistical opportunist. He joined and left political parties on a whim, joining any party when he thought it would benefit him and leaving when it didn't, trying a different political party. Heck, Trump even was a member of my tiny Reform Party for a year. A Democrat three times, a Republican three times and three times an independent. That's not a man who is principled with a set of core beliefs. That is a man who wonders from party to party, whichever party gives what he perceives an advantage.

Still, it isn't the die hard Trump supporters who are leaving him. They never will. They love the man, not what he stands for, not his stances on issues, but his persona.

Sure, he was born with one spoon in his house and had to work hard for everything he's ever had even though something was wrong with one of his feet (that's why he couldn't be drafted, he's a patriot though). Trump is a reality television star. People voted for him because that's what they like. News has become entertainment, now politics is going to be entertainment. We've no time for meaningful discourse. Trust me, I'm not underestimating Trump. I have no doubt that he'll play far more golf than Obama did while he lets people make all his decisions for him.

Well, that's what the presidency is kind of like. That's why there are all of those cabinet positions and advisers. The president pushes the buttons and steers the boat while he delegates many things to others. Make no mistake, Trump is in charge.

He actually said, if you read the CNN article, he's not in charge on purpose. He just is letting the military decide what to do.

The President is mostly a figurehead, in all honesty. I just loathe Trump because he's a lying, horrible person who would do and say anything to get what he wants. He's a petulant man-child whose ego may be unrivaled by any modern figure. And with a congress and executive branch (soon to be all three) that are controlled by the GOP, he's going to sign off on all sorts of things that will ruin people's lives to make rich people richer. This is not hyperbole, this is something I have and do experience both at my place of work and in my own life. I have no tolerance for that kind of grotesque selfishness.

But you're right in that my hatred for Trump is almost entirely about him as a human unworthy of attention than a President unworthy of office, though he is both.

You're naive if you really think the military decides to drop a MOAB without Trump knowing about it. Hell, he even told China's president a strike on Syria was happening as they spoke. Does that sound like someone who doesn't know what is happening?
