I predict that Trump's ratings won't be getting better anytime soon.

What do you think?

I would agree that things will not change materially any time soon. My sense is that it will be if he can get legislation on health care and taxes. If he can people will be more tolerant of the nutty tweets, if not his numbers will stay low.

Yikes!

That's the thing about polls...especially, as in this case...when they don't tell you WHO they contacted. The most Gallup will tell us is this:

lol. Not by name, but yeah, they know.

Ever hear of cross tabs and demographic break downs? How polls are weighed...a thing called statistics?

Are the Gallup Daily tracking samples weighted?
Yes, Gallup weights samples to correct for unequal selection probability, nonresponse, and double coverage of landline and cellphone users in the two sampling frames. Gallup also weights its final samples to match the U.S. population according to gender, age, race, Hispanic ethnicity, education, region, population density, and phone status (cellphone only, landline only, both, and cellphone mostly).

Demographic weighting targets for the U.S. and states are based on the most recent Current Population Survey figures for the aged 18 and older U.S. population, while weighting targets for metropolitan areas and congressional districts are based on Nielsen Claritas statistics.

Phone status targets are based on the most recent National Health Interview Survey. Population density targets are based on the most recent U.S. Census. All reported margins of sampling error include computed design effects for weighting.
Where can I find results from Gallup Daily tracking and learn more about the survey?
In many cases, Gallup reports findings in three-day rolling averages; weekly, monthly, quarterly, and yearly aggregates; and by region and state, as appropriate on Gallup.com. Sign up for Gallup News alerts to get these articles as soon as they are published.
Gallup also reports Gallup Daily tracking results in interactive features such as:

I think results matter and when the economic activity increases like it is, the jobs are created as they are, and our national security returns to world class levels those poll numbers are going to skyrocket. As it is now the media has done its job demonizing Trump focusing on insignificant issue like wire tapping, taxes, hacking and not jobs, economy, and national security.

It really is sad to see how radical the Democratic base has become over an election loss. The left has become a bastion of radicals bent on destroying the foundation upon which this country was built, free enterprise and capitalism

What was the ratio of Democrats to Republicans to Independents? For some reason, they don't mention that. What do they have to hide?

We've seen so many skewed, manipulated, outright bogus polls that are proven to be that way because they DID show their sampling percentages. Gallup won't show us. That right there makes their poll suspicious and untrustworthy.

Try rereading my post again. They are not "hiding it."

Gallup has been around for over 80 years as a trusted and reliable polling organization -- but be like aDonny and trust the ones you like, distrust the ones that don't tell you what you want to hear.

It has nothing to do with "the ones I like". It has everything to do with trustworthiness. Everyone said 538 was accurate and trustworthy...and they blew it. Everyone said NBC, CBS, etc, were accurate and trustworthy...and they blew it. Hell, everyone said Fox was accurate and trustworthy...and THEY blew it. And they all had one thing in common: Arbitrary and sometimes wildly distorted sampling numbers. And Gallup...hell, they won't even TELL you their numbers.

But hey...millions of people believed all those bogus polls...and cried afterwards. You can go ahead and believe whatever poll you want. I'll continue to distrust them ALL.

A few thoughts on this.

First, I stick with the aggregators, specifically RCP and 538.

Second, while it does seem like Trump has not gotten a honeymoon, it is still far too early to detect any trends, or much more than a vague sentiment.

Third, I do think one lesson from the 2016 election is that the polls don't do a good job of showing the degree of uncertainty by the electorate.

Finally, a lot of voters (not just Trump voters btw) don't pay much attention to politics. They only have the vaguest sense of Trump's performance.

What the heck is wrong with you? I told you twice access to the demographics and crosstabs is available. Register and you can view them - simple as that. Sheeesh.

And no, the other polling orgs said Hillary on the nation polls would win more votes, and she did. By nearly 3 million.

I'm not going to register. If you think they have something, post it.

And no...the polls, right up to the end, said Hillary was going to WIN. That she was going to be President. Hell, SHE even had her fireworks ready. NOBODY thought she would win the irrelevant popular vote and lose the Electoral Vote. You can't spin this.

FAKE NEWS!!!!! His real rating is at 99%.

LOL, yeah I remember reading about someone like that a few years ago....

Let us pause, for a moment, to remember the sporting life of Kim Jong-Il, the North Korean leader who died Saturday.

In his very first golf game in 1994, Kim finished an 18-hole round of golf at 38-under par — over the 7,700-yard championship course at Pyongyang, according to state media. Kim was in a zone, recording five holes-in-one (some reports have the number as high as 11). Another legend had him bowling a perfect 300 in his first attempt at the sport....

He offered coaching advice during the 2010 World Cup, communicating with coach Kim Jong-Hun via invisible cellphone. “Jong Il is said to have developed the technology himself,” the coach told ESPN.

Obama's approval rating was in the toilet for most of his eight years. Just goes to show that Trump's approval rating eight years from now may actually be good.

In other words, you agree with what I said
.

I agree that Trump will have to win the 2020 election before he ever gets eight years in office.

His chances of doing that appear to be getting lower as time goes by.

Pure speculation off of just two months of a presidency. Trump hasn't even had a chance to do much of anything yet.
