Is Trump alienating the media?

In the tweet that I read Trump criticized 5 media outlets. 4 of them based in NYC and 1 based in Atlanta. There are thousands of news outlets. I read two newspapers, follow other news on the internet like the BBC, Daily Mail, etc. I don't watch or read any of those 5 except through a link from some other site. The arrogance of those reporters in those 5 outlets that think that they represent the press! They need to go to their safe space and take a pill. He did not attack the press. He did not saying anything about trying to not allow the press to write what they want (unlike Obama). He did not sic the Justice Dept on any reporter (unlike Obama).

Calm down.

Trump started it by spouting off absurd and easily discredited statements of his own, then claiming that he was right and the news media was wrong.
You'll find references to his more absurd statements here.

And you are diverting again. You still didn't answer my question.

Does Trump have the right to defend himself when they publish a fake derogatory news article about him?

You already know the answer: No, he does not have the right to call out fake news as being fake news. He must sit there and let the left hammer at him because we can't call out the great institution of the press for untruths. Obama though did have the right to call fake news fake news and he avoided certain media like the plague.

The answer will avoided at almost any cost but I like beating dead horses. They can't move so they are easy targets.

Surely by now you've seen Trump's latest news conference, or at least parts of it.

Has he succeeded in alienating the fourth estate? If so, will he get away with having done so? just how powerful is the media?

What do you think?

No. They are already alienated.

Of course.
And when Trump makes a demonstrably false statement, his supporters have every right to second what he said and try to maintain that he was correct.
And I have a right to say that they're full of crap.

It's called freedom of speech.

So, the answer to your question is "yes." Next question?

No more questions. I got what I wanted. Thanks.

No. They are already alienated.

Since they were opposed to him from the get-go, it is hard to see how it could be said that he is alienating them now.

Do you know where I got the phrase "ministry of truth?" No, Trump didn't make it up.

The term originally came from independent internet media who Hillary openly stated she was going to shut down, and if that piece of s**t had been elected she would be doing that using this policy.

No, they were already that way.
