mmmmm, that's Paul Ryan discussing last years "repeal" , Healthy America Act that mean ole Obama vetoed. here's the whole quote

"We have now shown that there is a clear path to repealing Obamacare without 60 votes in the Senate. So, next year, if we're sending this bill to a Republican president, it will get signed into law."

could somebody tell Ryan he has a republican president now. Last year, the path was clear with a democrat President but republicans now seem all confused. Its like they're "lost in the jungle" going in all different directions with a republican president. Is it possible they were just pandering and lying to their base the last 7 years?

They're scared to take away 20 million insured Americans health care, because it will be political suicide. It's ironic. They convinced their base that Obamacare=BAD, so their base elected them to repeal the ACA.. now when they can repeal it, they hesitate because the consequences will lose them the midterms. So, they created a talking point that was lethal to their own party. genius.

Why should the GOP be scared to repeal a law thats helped them claim the majority in both houses of Congress, 14 Governorships, the Presidency and thats left the Democrat party leaderless and divided ?

Yes, ObamaCare = Bad. The Democrats were the one's that pretended it didnt exist in the 2014 Midterms, and they lost anyway.
Now theyre back to their empty talking points and fear tactics ( 20 million will lose health insurance ) in a bid to save Obama's legacy.

Of-course preaching to the choir isnt going to help them rebuild a brand thats been soiled by 8 years of Obama's agenda.
Its a disastrous law sold on a pack of lies, no amount of spin or attempts at revision is going to change that, and if anything the Democrats should be thanking Trump and the GOP
Who knows, after a few years and people start forgetting, they may win a election or two again

That's a question you should think about given that they haven't repealed it. And the administration just put out guidance today for the 2018 exchange open enrollment.

The Dems are blocking the repeal of Obamacare. Not only directly, with with their behavior as well.

Obviously it hasn't gotten bad enough yet. Wait another year, maybe two.

GOP: We were blocked by the Dems. You still have Obamacare because of the Dems. It's the Dems fault. Obamacare has been the Dems fault all along.

Frankly, I think it highly foolish to repeat the same mistake made by the Dems in passing Obamacare with lies & bribes and on a party line vote. A fatal mistake.

In order for something as socially significant and expensive as Obamacare (or it's replacement / improvement) to be successful, it has to be with bipartisan support & votes while it's a bill and bipartisan support when it becomes law. Anything less than that, and Obamacare (or it's replacement / improvement) will fail just as Obamacare has failed.

Given the present state of federal congressional politics, its pettiness and vindictiveness, its 'take no prisoners' attitude, I doubt there'll be anything passed with bipartisan support & votes for quite some time.

Obamacare will just continue to implode and continue to rot on the vine until it stink get bad enough to force both parties to work with each other to solve it, be it by repeal and replace, or be it fixes (rather doubtful, as tangled a mess as it is).

I figure it as just one of the many prices to be paid for the distinct lack of statesmanship at the federal congressional level, a price for the 'we won, and 'elections have consequences' attitudes that both parties have adopted for about the last 10-12 years.

What? You didn't figure those chicken were going to come home to roost?
