Trump Hypocrisy

And you would rather not know that Flynn was a lying POS? Looking forward to more leaks.

I definitely like transparency. Holding our government accountable is important.

That goes for both parties.

I do not remember an administration so bent on controlling the press. The same press Trump the candidate courted on a daily basis when campaigning. I am old enough to remember the Nixon downfall play out nightly, this has the same vibe, I do hope I am wrong, but something smells fishy, with a distinctive Russian odor.

I'd just like to point out some delicious hypocrisy coming from Donald J. Trump.

This is a exerpt of a quote from Trump when speaking to Bill O' Reilly back in October:

You can find more quotes here:

And now, concerning the recent leaks, he said this earlier this morning on Twitter:

Isn't it just amazing how Trump is suddenly against illegal leaks and interference....when he's not the one benefiting from them?

Comparing apples and oranges. The wikileaks thing was hacked e-mails revealing hypocrisy in a candidate campaigning for the Presidency.

The NSA and FBI are government agencies that absolutely should not be leaking information without clearance to do so.

And yes, we all squawk when it is our ox we think is being maliciously gored for partisan gain. No doubt about that.

But these really are two separate things.

Greetings, yankintx. :2wave:

You're being sarcastic about who is controlling the press, right?

I think you can express your dissent any time you please, and you certainly do.

I'm calling for a mature and reasonable perspective.

OK, then. I'll be sure to provide a steady stream of it!:)

And to use what I hope is a neutral term, Reuters, the AP, WaPo, and the NY Times have all misreported the news recently. Insta-info encourages carelessness, and I'm not inclined to immediately believe anything I read.

Good plan.

This paragraph from yesterday's NYT piece was a wtf moment ...
The officials said the intercepted communications were not limited to Trump campaign officials, and included other associates of Mr. Trump. On the Russian side, the contacts also included members of the government outside of the intelligence services, they said. All of the current and former officials spoke on the condition of anonymity because the continuing investigation is classified.

Now it may be easy to have missed it but what the NYT is saying, without the slightest hint that they recognize the illegality, is that those intelligence officials want to remain anonymous because what they're disclosing is classified.

Also from that NYT piece ...
American law enforcement and intelligence agencies intercepted the communications around the same time they were discovering evidence that Russia was trying to disrupt the presidential election by hacking into the Democratic National Committee, three of the officials said. The intelligence agencies then sought to learn whether the Trump campaign was colluding with the Russians on the hacking or other efforts to influence the election.

The officials interviewed in recent weeks said that, so far, they had seen no evidence of such cooperation.

The bureau did not have enough evidence to obtain a warrant for a wiretap of Mr. Manafort’s communications, but it had the N.S.A. scrutinize the communications of Ukrainian officials he had met.

Yes we do
and
Yes they are

the link contains the report.

There's no evidence of collusion between the Trump admin and the Russians. The Left and their media have been trying for months to find some and they can't.

Nor is there a lick of evidence that the Russians affected the vote count or the voting process in any way.

You are simply repeating fake news stories.

And you would rather not know that Flynn was a lying POS? Looking forward to more leaks.

Mr. Flynn, a confidant of Mr. Trump’s since his presidential campaign, resigned Monday night, writing that he had “inadvertently briefed” Mr. Pence and other officials “with incomplete information.”

Shortly before his resignation, Mr. Flynn was quoted in the conservative news website The Daily Caller saying his conversation with Mr. Kislyak “wasn’t about sanctions. It was about the 35 guys who were thrown out… It was basically, ‘Look, I know this happened. We’ll review everything.’ I never said anything such as ‘We’re going to review sanctions,’ or anything like that.’’

Now ... assuming that's true, do you think everyone would consider that to be a discussion about sanctions?

Hypocrisy? iLOL
As your comments in regards to hypocrisy have already been shown to be nonsense, there is no need to continue to point it out.

Our 17 different intelligence and defense agencies say in their expert evaluation of the facts in the case that Russia hacked sites here and that material was used by wikileaks in a campaign to weaken Clinton and aid Trump for president.

Read the US Intelligence Report on Russian Hacking | Mother Jones

You can read the report yourself.
No.
While there was a real report, the claim of 17 Agencies was fake news.

First of all it would have been 16 Agencies if correct, as the Director's Office does not count as a separate Agency.
Secondly, just because 16 Agencies fall under the auspices of one Director does not mean they all were involved in the making of the report, especially as far as we know it was likely only three at the most, of which the conclusion boiled down to nothing more than a non-substantive conjecture.

Lets find out with a Special Prosecutor and Select Committee of Congress.
You first need information that would suggest that level of investigation is needed, thus far we have none.

... But the moment the D changes to an R, all off a sudden they're not outraged about improper government conduct and action.
No. Simply no.
All situations are different and there is no comparison that can be made unless the circumstances are similar.

, because people are so caught up in their hyperpartisan bull**** that they cannot act intelligently.
It is your claim in the first quote that is the hyperpartisan bull****.

I saw the headline, but WaPo wants me to subscribe. Hmmmm. Anyhow, I get it. And, of course, we must keep in mind that this wire tapping went on during the Obama Administration. We shall see...

Well yes but it is much bigger than that as you know...look at Congress for example.

The DC ELITE have decided that Russia is the enemy, they insist, no way can we work with them.

Why I ask? Are we really going to keep hurting our own interests because we are pissed at the Russian people? (PUTIN), because of what is at base a snit?

Grow the **** up I say. Putin is practical, he is smart, and he tends to be a man of his word.

Plus they have some really useful friends.

Trump Gets It.

No, people on the Left keep screaming about obstructionism from the Right during Obama's presidency. I just want to know what he was denied.

You mean free **** and further policies detrimental to the economy of this country? LOL!

You prove the fake news owns a spot in your brain.

What exactly is this FAKE NEWS you invoke like garlic against a vampire in the night?

That's what you call hypocrisy?

President Trump is talking about output from US government intelligence agencies, not some hacker who got inside someone's server.

Total fail on this one.

All these reports and such. No one has substantiated any of them.

That is not a definition that can be objectively applied. I ask you again - what definition of FAKE NEWS are you using?
