I knew they were going to come up with something. Here is that something.

First, we have the "Blame Obama Loyalists" argument.

Former Obama Officials, Loyalists Waged Secret Campaign to Oust Flynn

The effort, said to include former Obama administration adviser Ben Rhodes—the architect of a separate White House effort to create what he described as a pro-Iran echo chamber—included a small task force of Obama loyalists who deluged media outlets with stories aimed at eroding Flynn's credibility, multiple sources revealed.

The operation primarily focused on discrediting Flynn, an opponent of the Iran nuclear deal, in order to handicap the Trump administration's efforts to disclose secret details of the nuclear deal with Iran that had been long hidden by the Obama administration.

OK, now if you're not buying that this hoopla over Flynn and the Russians is all about Iran (wink-wink), we have this. I call it the "Blame the Spies" approach.

America's spies anonymously took down Michael Flynn. That is deeply worrying.

The whole episode is evidence of the precipitous and ongoing collapse of America's democratic institutions — not a sign of their resiliency. Flynn's ouster was a soft coup (or political assassination) engineered by anonymous intelligence community bureaucrats. The results might be salutary, but this isn't the way a liberal democracy is supposed to function.

...no matter what Flynn did, it is simply not the role of the deep state to target a man working in one of the political branches of the government by dishing to reporters about information it has gathered clandestinely. It is the role of elected members of Congress to conduct public investigations of alleged wrongdoing by public officials.

Yeah, both arguments are laughable. But, hey. It is the Right. So, what did you expect?

If they are laughable, why are you intent on giving them airtime? Is this kind of a "Look how stupid the right is" thread, Calamity? My guess is your plan backfired.

Definitely hee-larry-ous.
My favorites?

"The results might be salutary, but this isn't the way a liberal democracy is supposed to function."

And yet... we are told continuously on this board that the real Murica is neither liberal nor a democracy... of course, that only applies when it works in the GOP's favor.

"Flynn's ouster was a soft coup (or political assassination) engineered by anonymous intelligence community bureaucrats."

Kinda like the rogue NYC FBI office's attack on HRC during the election, right? With the complicity of Comey, no less.

Also:

"It is the role of elected members of Congress to conduct public investigations of alleged wrongdoing by public officials."

You would think so, wouldn't you? Not Rand Paul and the GOP though... they have real work to do!

lol...it looks like Sean tried to sell this crap on Twitter yesterday. That went about as well as Ivnaka gear sold at Nordstom.

Naturally, plenty of the Fox News host’s followers blamed the left, the media, former President Barack Obama, the Republican Party and even business magnate George Soros for Trump’s troubles. But not everyone stuck to the script.

Before long, plenty of people were chiming in with some other opinions on what was bringing Trump down ― and it was not the left.

It's called a "discussion" forum for a reason. To discuss. Right?

Yep. We all know the GOP-controlled congress isn't going to touch this until they have absolutely no other choice. And, were from comes the pressure to give them no choice? Oh, yeah--leaks, media and public outrage.

"It's a coup!!"

That claim is freaking ridiculous.

It appears it's time to investigate the whole thing. The contacts, and the felonies being committed to reveal them.

I think for the most part people are taking a wait and see attitude and not buying into the efforts of the paid shills spreading the memes, nor the alt-lefts MSM partners participating in the effort.

So wait, you don't think it's a big deal that people from the intelligence community are illegally leaking classified information to the press? In fact you think it's "laughable"?

IMO, it was a political assassination.

Won't be hard to narrow down the culprit(s) Only a small group of people have access to this sort of info.

I think Flynn was run off by the NeoCons that want permanent war and possibly a war with Russia. They are the impetus behind the Cold War renewal, Syria, Libya, Iraq, Iran Yemen etc. I hope Trump can find a clone of Flynn to replace him, but the list of alternatives I have seen is deplorable. I think Flynn was doing the right thing to discuss Russia sanctions as the nature of his job. The NeoCons are the Main Enemy of the USA.

Donald Trump loves leaks - he said so in Wilkes-Barre, Pennsylvania back in October.

I pretty much agree. The NSA insiders were whining that Flynn was trying to wage a "jihad" against them so I don't doubt that they engaged in some sort of sabotage of his campaign.

Because we can't trust the partisan hacks in the White House and Congress. Duh.

Apparently he and our resident Right Wingers love leaks when it involves the Hillster. When the script is flipped, they get triggered and become snowflakes.

According to the Donald, the leaks are an attempt to cover up the mistakes during Hillary's losing campaign.

LOLZ. Deflection much?

Funny thing is many here pointed out that eventually the script was going to be flipped. And some Cons here said if it was, well that would be no big deal. They said leaks, from either side, are good because it keeps the government more honest.

But now that Trump's and his 'people's' dirty laundry is being aired they don't like the 'leaks'. They are all butt hurt now. Too bad!
