Tiffany Trump is shunned at New York Fashion Week by 'editors who don't want to sit n

Speaking of first daughters, this reminds me of Marc Mezvinksy:

"Henry Drummond: [cutting him off] Because she's homely as a lemon and just as sneaky as her old lady, and every man sets foot in this house needs just one look to figure it ain't worth 40,000 acres and a soft spot for the rest of his life."

My ex used to work in the fashion industry. It's pretty ruthless. People have been shunned for a lot less. She's 23, she'll get over it.
I totally believe that. I just hope any shunning is for other "legit" reasons.

The reports on both sides of this one are sketchy, so I am doubtful of its accuracy, but that being said I would hope that Tiffany doesn't suffer any backlash professionally, at least over politics. Especially from people who espouse tolerance and/or personal accountability. Of all the adult kids she is the one who is not politically motivated or minded.

Just further proof that the left is made up of a large number of immature bullies.

I remeber doing this sort of thing back in elementary school. I wouldn't even think of it as an adult.

Do you even know about the fashion industry? Has nothing to do with "the left" the fashion and model industry are some of the most ruthless industries out there.

Are we going to have a thread for every time a Trump kid is sad?

Why do you hate freedom of association?

Apparently you're as mistaken about the notion of freedom of association as so many people tend to be about freedom of speech.

I don't see Buck suggesting that the government needs to act here. I don't even see him suggesting that the people involved should HAVE to act differently.

Freedom of Association doesn't mean you have freedom from criticism.

Yes, those that are attending are free to say "I don't want to sit next to that person", and the people putting on the event are free to respect that request or not. However, none of that changes whether or not someone see's such a request as being ridiculously childish and idiotic. And viewing it as such doesn't mean you believe they shouldn't have the freedom, or that you hate that they have that freedom.

There's not some kind of strange Trump-cooties that people will suddenly contract if they are somehow seated in proximity to someone with Trump blood.

Nah, I'm not.

Correct, and I have never (not would I) claim otherwise.

Given the rather whiney and petty nature of what I was responding to, perhaps you missed the rather over-the-top side to my reply to him. E.G., answering absurdity with absurdity.

Yes, I know. That wasn't really my point.

I would think it would be the other way around.

These people came to New York, which is heavily influenced by the Trump organization and then pulled this.

This is the fashion business which, in New York, is connected with Trump.

His organization puts on fashion shows and many other fund raising events so for these people to all of a sudden shun a Trump, this may be detrimental to their career at least in New York.

If I understand you correctly, there's a difference between shooting oneself in the foot and shooting someone else in the foot.

People are entitled to there 1st amendment rights, no matter how asinine they may look in the process. Can we lay off the Trump kids, focus on the Cheeto in Chief.

Re: Tiffany Trump is shunned at New York Fashion Week by 'editors who don't want to s

Can we stop calling a sitting President a "Cheeto"?

Can the PumpkinFührer stop looking like he is king of the OompaLoompas first?

kids / family should be off limits.

Well, she is an adult...but yeah..

She is an adult, but adult/kid aside, I see the better measure whether or not they're politically involved. Tiffany is not. Her three older siblings are, hence her three older sibling are absolutely fair game. Tiffany is not necessarily "hands off" like 10 yr old Baron is, but just as a matter of common courtesy and decency she doesn't need to be dragged into a place where she has no interest and has not been participating*. That's just pettiness on the part of the person doing the dragging.

*-Other than some stage standing and photo ops where she clearly didn't do anything other than stand there. Or, when she did speak, it was inconsequential.

If this were Ivanka, I'd say good.

But I don't recall any real participation in the campaign from Tiffany.

kids / family should be off limits.

Not if those kids (or in-laws) of adult age helped him get into office like Jared or Ivanka.

I have to agree with this. Ivanka and her husband seem to both have taken on official roles in her father's White House. Tiffany as far as I can see is nothing but a young lady who happens to be the daughter of the President. She has no role in his administration, she was seldom seen on the campaign trail. Like her brother Barron, she should be left alone. Ivanka and Jared, they're actually fair game. Jared is one of the President's closest advisors.

Barron is a child, so he's off limits regardless of what he does.
