Both the left and the right are problematic when it comes to that.
Yes, but it is the left who is in quicksand right now. If they want to get out they have to show some kind of tolerance to the religious right and not call them names. I'll give you an example right from my home state of Kentucky. Kim Davis (actually a Democrat at the time), the county clerk who did not feel right issuing marriage licenses with her name on them to gays because of the recent Supreme Court decision which came down while she was in office, was hung up to dry and put in jail by the intolerant left. Liberals enjoyed every minute of her jail time and tarred and feathered her and crammed their liberal values up her ass. Next election for Governor in Kentucky we threw out the Democratic Governor and elected a Republican Governor, one of the very few for Kentucky, and recently Republicans also took over the legislature for the first time in decades. Anyway, back to my point, when the Republican Governor took office, he made a small change to the law where country clerk's names were not on marriage licenses anymore and Kim Davis is still county clerk and her office is now issuing marriage licenses to gays without her name on them. Now the previous Democratic governor could have done the very same thing but he and liberals enjoyed shoving their liberal values up Kim Davis's ass and the rest of the religious right. In other words, they were completely intolerant to her religious beliefs when there was a simple solution available to all sides and all sides would win. Now Republicans own the governor's mansion and the state legislature, and that hasn't happened in decades. Perfect example of what has happened to the left around the country for being so intolerant of other's beliefs. It's their way or the highway.
