We need to ban Americans from leaving their homes

Unless they cross the uS border it would seem.

a country accepts people from other nations because a nation agrees to do it thru diplomacy.

the u.s. is well within its power to reject anyone from a foreign nation it choses, because it is in charge of immigration.

coming to America is not a right

The Border agency is shipping detained travelers out, away from scrutiny, in defiance of a court order and in the presence of a Senator and you see no problem?

It's still a dumb and dishonest concept. Stopping murders by locking everyone in their homes has massive negative for society. Stopping people from a handful of nations from entering this country only negative to our society is making people like you post stupid ideas like this one.

What?

from what i had heard, the judges order was a temp order, as for a senator that means nothing.

immigration is part of the executive branch, and they act on the presidents orders.

This whole concept is founded on a grossly inaccurate assumption: That we have to prove that someone isn't a threat before we deny them entry into our country. The truth is that they should have to prove that they aren't a threat before we allow them into this country. It's about doing what is best for us and if that means that a handful of people that could be beneficial to us get told they can't come here, the so be it. They DON'T have a right to come to our country and should have the responsibility of proving to us that we should allow them into our country.

Can you prove I am not a threat? Can you prove someone from the UK is not a threat? It's a silly notion. Is her husband a threat?

Muslim translators who helped the US are hurt by Trump's ban (Opinion) - CNN.com

These people took a grave risk by serving the US military and intelligence forces in their home countries. Rather than plotting against us, they stood next to us, helping us understand local languages and dialects; gathering and interpreting lifesaving intelligence.

Trump has every right to do it, you have every right to support it, and I have every right to tell how stupid and useless it is.

We don't fear them. The idea is to make sure the bad ones don't get in. Tell you what, those that don't make it through the screening process can come live with you.

How many terrorists from those 7 countries have taken American lives on American soil in the last 15 years?

Answer: 0

More people from Canada have killed Americans on American soil than people from those countries. Where is your extreme vetting process for Canada?

Not to liberals you don't.

THEY decide what rights you have.

Um...such as how Trump decided U.S. residents from 7 specific countries no longer have the right to enter the U.S.?

Not winning the civil liberties argument here.

I am literally hundreds of times more likely to die at the hands of a fellow American than at the hands of an Islamic terrorist. That isn't an exaggeration but a verifiable fact. We need to keep this country safe, so let's ban all travel.

In other words, you're perfectly fine with having more terrorist attacks in the US. Just like liberals in Europe, your liberal values justify the increased risk of more terrorism.

Red herring. Nobody is asserting that coming to America is a right. People are asserting it is bat **** stupid to create an indiscriminate travel ban on several countries and to then cuff and detain people at airports who legally and lawfully traveled to this country and send them offshore so they can't have access to a lawyer all in the name of "security".

Well thank you for that beautiful display of logic. Yes! The only two options we have in the fight on terror is indiscriminate travel bans on entire countries (some which we rely on to help us fight terrorists) and ignoring the terrorists. You so eloquently thought that out and summed up every conceivable option we have! Thank you for sharing the kind of reasoning that led to Trump being elected to lead us through these tough dichotomous decisions.

yes, some people have assert its right, because i have heard it, but not from people in authority.

i myself would not understand why people would need to be cuffed at all.

You can never be 100% sure, any human being will ever come to do something bad, or something happens to them to turn them to do bad things.

People are complex.

So at the end of the day, the decision has to be, does Americas xenophobic capacity for fear, outweigh its capacity for compassion and at this moment, many of you are answering that abundantly clear, your capacity for fear is extreme.

You were doing good until you went off the deep end with the bolded. Earth to Jetboogieman: Disagreeing with leftists does not make one xenophobic, homophobic, or any other mindless accusation you care to come up with. The primary role of any government is the protection of the lives and liberties of its citizens--not the people of the world. If a temporary ban on immigration from a handful of terror hotbeds makes us safer than it is worth it no matter how many empty headed liberals lose their minds over it.

Somewhere in all of that you did seem to understand that voters elected Trump for this very reason.

Please post where ANYONE has asserted it is a right to travel to the U.S..

Ban cheese, because cholesterol kills more people than terrorists.

Yup. That is the best part. Stupid is as stupid does.
Why didnt you **** yourself in 2011 like you are ****ting yourself now? Where was your on your knees shrieks to the heavens over the freeeeeeedoms of those poor asylum seekers from Iraq that were BANNED by the evil Barrack Obama for six months? OH the injustice!!! Oh the inhumanity!

And I remember it so well...you and all the rest of the people rolling on the floor now in literal ANGUISH for those poor people...you were doing the same thing then....

right?

Right?

Maybe we need one. But the idea is to keep murderous radicals out of the US. Maybe none have come in in the past, but this will help make sure none come in in the future either. Not sure why anyone would oppose that.
