Honestly, I know we are an extremely divided nation but I am sick of how much this crap has brought the discussion down on the forum. I can understand it in this section, but it has been migrating. Some of us find those on the extreme Left or Right to be idiots. They are blinded by their extremism. Logic doesn't apply anymore, only rhetoric. We've reached a point where the stupidest people have the loudest voice. This does not bode well.

In bold. I've been saying this for several years. And it's been happening for longer than that.
 
Of note, labeling is easy. Anyone who happens to disagree with you (general terms) suddenly becomes a righty or a lefty, depending.
We have to realize that discussions are based on opposing view points. When we do, perhaps we can start listening instead of become stand offish to the point of turning any reasonable discussion into mud wrestling.
Perhaps it is also worth mentioning that not everyone expresses themselves as eloquently as the other, and when we start making fun and start pushing people into a corner by making nasty remarks about them, they respond in kind.
