One theory to consider that has gone far beyond mere conjecture and is now being written about.

Vladimir Putin hates the USA and our form of government. He wants to weaken us in any way possible.

So he helps Trump get elected and then presides over the release of material which makes Trump look like a complete douche bag and Americans damn fools for voting for him.

Putin gets exactly what he wants - a weekend America with a President for the next four years who has been badly comprised and played for a fool.

Such a strategy would be worth of the political genius of Machiavelli who wrote THE PRINCE all about such maneuvers.

Could this even be possible?

I have alot of doubts that there was any serious collusion between the Trump camp and Russia. I think Trump would do it, but many of the people around him I don't think would stand for it. But you never know. I'm waiting for more actual evidence.

As we all are.

I think that for the most part, we already know Trump is a complete douchebag and that we are fools for voting for him. What more can Putin do? And it's not like it'll do anything, we see the bubble Trump lives in. He could release the most damning thing of all time and Trump would just brush it off and make some childish Twitter attack instead. In that sense Trump may be untouchable, lol.

I don't know if that happened but Putin is certainly smart enough to pull it off. I tend to doubt Trump colluded, but Putin wouldn't have needed him to.

Makes for fun speculation but for now that is all it is.

Putin has been playing us like idiots for at least the last 10 years. He ambushed us and has been very successful. That anyone would think he was not a full fledged enemy is almost inconceivable. So yes, he is good.

As to Trump:
That is the problem. We put someone in place, of whom it seems quite easily possible to believe it true, whatever the accusation. All we really know is that he cannot have done it all.

Putin gets exactly what he wants - a weekend America

A Freudian slip? ;)

I know what you meant, but with Trump as prez 'weekend' fits too. He's pretty much already said he's going to be a part-time Prez.

I don't have a problem with the Russian behavior here, but I do support the bipartisan move to sanction Russia for it. This keeps pressure on our President as well. The Russians are just behaving as you would expect them to. E-mails would mean nothing if it weren't for Benghazi so we should just thank the Russians (with sanctions) for saving us from future under this rule.

Funny Bedfellows, those Russians and Religious Right praying for Mike Pence.

You needed the e-mails just to have it even.

Come on everybody, let's get behind the President, he's going to do a great job, he makes right decisions.

A Republican can do all right, just ask Ronald Reagan.

Another "I hate Trump." thread???

I doubt that Machiavelli was able to drive his political adversaries into irrational, unhinged rants quite the way Trump has done with the American left.

:cuckoo:

You better steel yourself... you're in for a long ride. This is merely a trickle that will turn into a flood once Trump assumes office.

Hurry up and start talking about Hillary or you'll melt down!

Gee - and I thought it was the American left driving Trump into unhinged rants.

Actually its another "is America about to get bent over the table" thread.

..and the only reason that question is being asked is because of the hatred towards Trump. With ZERO real evidence to back up the ridiculous conspiracy theory spewed forth in the OP, the only real motivation behind this (and several dozen other similar threads) is to create ways to attack Trump. You want to find things to complain about and since there isn't anything solid that you want to use, you resort to "chem-trail" level conspiracy theories.

I sincerely doubt that there is one single person who voted for Trump who thinks Trump has "badly comprised and played for a fool."

Just look at all the DP threads. If a thread contains a link reporting true facts about Trump that reflect poorly on him, between one and five of the usual suspects will simply announce "fake!" or "illegitimate!" or "liberal media!" and not even read it. He's built a new kind of cult of personality. It's not simply based around a message that he's our savior, and in fact, it's mainly based on hatred for anything that can be associated with "the left." It's more effective because this means that people he's won (duped) over aren't going to consider anything negative said about him, thereby insulating the core proposition that Trump is our awesome savior.

Typical liberalism.

They do the very exact same thing the republicans do while claiming to be intellectually superior, and above the this type triviality.

You guys did it for 8 years with Obama.

Now your defense is 'don't be as mean and vicious and trivial ' as we were?

You got to admit that's pretty funny.

I am not a republican.

You said.............. "you guys"

I bailed out of that party line chit 9-10 years ago.

But yeah...... I have fun reading it. I would be lying to you if I said that I didn't. ;)

Yeah, I've heard the 'I'm not a Republican' line since 2007 when the economy tanked under Bush and Co...

I'm not singling you out. You may not be a Republican. I was for 35 years, but I no longer am. Not at all. But I do find it weird how many 'I'm not a Republican' people who spewed hatred at Obama for 8 years are now are all butt hurt that Trump is the target of criticism and hatred. They can't expect 'kumbaya' after the 8 years of vicious hatred they just put this country through.

I quit the GOP after Iraq.

Trump is a buffoon.

If I say it.....I own it.

It's going to be a long four years.

How could we have elected him?

If she had won the other half be in chagrin.

All we have to do is tolerate his childlike behavior.

Hopefully he does for America what he has for his business.

Count on his family, count on his buddy Mike Pence.
