Here is one take:
Donald Trump’s celebrity-free inauguration could make the White House great again
Obama's celebrity obsession paved the way for celebrity President-elect Trump, who could reverse the trend
I saw elsewhere that the day will be filled to the brim with military and law enforcement, I got the idea that we might hear the most military marching band music anyone has heard in a long time, and I was wondering how that would go over if it happened. I also wondered if Trump was trying to strike fear into the hearts of the snowflakes, that this might be a form of physiological warfare. I heard that it will be the shortest inauguration in living memory because Trump "wants to get right to work"....I do think he intends to do a lot immediately, that he is not going to wait one second for Congress to get their **** together and do the Cabinet confirmations.
I am ok with all this except that I dont think that America wants this to look military, we dont want the soundtrack to be heavy on the Military Marching Music, as that will remind us of Hitler.
What say you?

Donald Trump?s celebrity-free inauguration could make the White House great again - Salon.comOne case where this can happen is the upcoming inauguration, where a lack of mainstream celebrities could make it a serious event, one more subdued and fitting of a president. This would be the greatest of ironies: the WWE showman teaches us to grow up. He wrests back the Oval Office from the left-leaning circus that is our creative class. Perhaps that’s a great irony many liberal observers have missed: President Obama helped create Trump by egging him on at the glitzy White House Correspondent’s Dinner and engaging with Trump’s hate Tweets. My colleague Gary Legum argues that the Trump White House could actually bring the Dinner back to its noble roots; documentarian Patrick Gavin shows us how the shindig has devolved in “Nerd Prom.”
Was President Obama was so ensconced in pop culture that he debased the office of the presidency by elevating the misogynistic and crass Jay-Z? And remember that time when President Obama sat for interviews with YouTube stars? The Obamas fed the celebrity beast, expanding the social-media fueled, American obsession with celebrity lifestyles.
President Obama dabbled with fire by giving heavy credence to celebrity culture, arguably paving the way for President-elect Trump. Rather than showcasing struggling entrepreneurs or elevating actual heroes like our men and women in the Armed Forces, President Obama spent the last eight years glad-handing with existing, entitled celebrities. Thus President-elect Trump, an entitled celebrity, is President Obama’s natural legacy (for many other policy reasons as well).
