Appearing Monday evening on Comedy Central’s “The Daily Show,” President Obama said:

“I think the President-Elect may say one thing and do another once he’s here because the truth of the matter is it’s a big, complicated world and it doesn’t matter how smart you are, you have to have the best information possible to make the best decisions possible and my experience with our intelligence agencies is, they are not perfect, they’d be the first to acknowledge that, but they are full of extraordinarily hard working, patriotic, and knowledgeable experts and if you’re not getting their perspective – their detailed perspective – then you are flying blind.” Article at https://resistancefeed.com/2016/12/...p-missing-security-briefings-missed-majority/

I think this article is dead on. It is so hypocritical for President Obama, and his media allies, to be critical of Trump but not pointing out that Obama missed the majority of security briefings himself. But that's par for the course.

Dead on.

Trump said he doesn't need a guy coming to him everyday telling him that the intelligence status hasn't changed. Frankly, I would just advise him to do the right thing; what that entails no one but intelligence professionals and Presidents would know.

I was reading that Nixon refused the briefs, said "send it to me on paper", then did not open a single one, returned every one he had been sent before inauguration back unopened. I am pretty sure this is fact.

Trump is not going to wast time on BS, regardless of what Obama would do, regardless of what the DC Establishment wants or expects.

They best get over it.

The source of the article aside, what Obama may or may not have done is immaterial. Trump is going to be the POTUS and if he gets the PDB
once a week he could end up making a decision on data that is 5-6 days old.
Unbelievable.

Let's see if you can provide a valid source for that. I got one the details what intelligence briefs were given to Nixon.

So then I imagine you feel equally negative towards teh hypocracy of Trump, who did the same thing? IE, he also complained about someone skipping/not taking intelligence briefings seriously, but ultimately did the same thing himself.

Here you go:

Priess, author of “The President’s Book of Secrets,” said Nixon refused to sit down with CIA briefers during the transition. To try to get the document to Nixon, intelligence officials resorted to dropping sealed copies of the PDB each morning with Nixon’s secretary.

After Nixon’s inauguration, his aides returned the briefing books still in their unopened envelopes, Priess said.

That's what I was going to say. I see the originator of this thread is a newbie, so we need to give him some slack.
