Trump: the businessman president

So I will become more like you? No.

That's funny, but I'm tell you that the training is leaving the station. Go back to worshipping Pelosi if you want, or you can work to get you agenda considered.

No.

What he does now as President-Elect is not a concrete indication of what he'll do...or not do...as President. The best anyone can do at this point is to guess. I decline to guess.

Actually by the cabinet members he is assembling one CAN see an indication of what he'll do, or at least best what he will support. That is still quite a bit of telling information.

The training is leaving the station huh? And "I'm tell you" really? Do tell :lamo

Oh, I agree, but I disagree that his selections are an indication that he won't partake in any intelligence briefing...as the OP contends. Also, Trump's selections distinctly indicate that...contrary to the OP's contention...Trump DOES care about national security.

No...in respect to the intelligence briefings, I'll continue to wait and see. Actions speak louder than the guesses of others.

In the intelligence briefing situation, I don't think people can accurately speculate one way or the other. In today's technology Trump could very well be receiving briefings that we don't know about. I would tend to give the benefit of the doubt that he is preparing. How much effort is he doing in that, I simply cannot say and don't think really anyone can. again, I would just give the benefit of the doubt that he is.

I do think that his actions after becoming president will definitely show how prepared he is or isn't though.

You're not seeing politics as usual already, if you're paying attention. But most liberals are whining and spewing talking points, instead actually looking at what Trump is doing. Apparently another company has already decided they want to bring back manufacturing because of the proposed tax changes.

They haven't decided, they have said maybe they can. You guys keep saying Trump doesn't have the power to do anything right now but are giving him credit on things he isn't doing. Make up your minds, you can't have it both ways.

Oh...they see what he's doing. That's WHY they are whining and spewing talking points. It pisses them off that this is the stuff that Obama couldn't get done in 8 years...and Trump is doing before he's actually President.

Legally he has no power to change an laws or regulations, but he does have his business reputation and the power to persuade. The certainly know he'll be president soon.

Like a lot of other things, I have an opinion about that. LOL!!

Here is my take: Trump has said what he wants to do to stimulate economic growth, but actually doing that depends on Congress. Businesses know this, too. Now, some Congressmen have expressed the desire to do this stuff...but others haven't. So there is still a question if Trump can get it done. Businesses are saying what they will do...if these changes happen...partly, I think, to encourage those Congressmen still on the fence or even opposing Trump to get on board. You could say these businesses are trying to influence Congress.

We'll see how it all shakes out, but I'm thinking things will be working out quite well.

I would argue that President-Elect Trump is the most business oriented president-elect in recent history.

He just announced that he wanted to cancel an order for a new $4billion Air Force One that he claims is too expensive.

He's also notorious for avoiding his intelligence briefings.

"Every president I know, and I worked under nine presidents, every one has taken their intelligence daily brief because that sets the agenda for what you have to focus on as president of the United States." ~Former Defense Secretary Leon Panetta

And it seems that work is being delegated to Pence and/or others because it is allegedly not interesting.

What it looks like to me is that President-Elect Trump is focusing on cutting costs and delegating work to others. I think it is a very risky thing for the people to be represented by an absentee leader. He doesn't care about national security?

What say you?

I say you are fairly confused. There is simply no evidence for anything you say.

Personally, I find it refreshing to have a president-elect who actually pays attention to the invoices.

We've had too many presidents who see the government coffers as unlimited resources to be spent like a drunken sailor on shore leave. Hell...Obama NEVER cared about how much money was wasted. Hell, his freakin' family had access to unlimited funds for all those lavish vacations, jet-setting all over the world.
